At K 2025, Kisuma Chemicals will showcase its latest range of magnesium-based additives and synergistic additive blends designed to enhance the performance and consistency of recycled plastics. The company, headquartered in Veendam, Netherlands, is targeting compounders and converters looking to upgrade recycled materials with improved odor control, color stability, gel reduction, and melt flow index retention.

“As part of a major initiative to expand our portfolio, we are working closely with our customers to help them unlock the full potential of recycled plastics,” says Zachary Hoffman, business development lead Europe, Middle East & Africa for Kisuma. “Beyond a diversified suite of magnesium-based additives already available for this market, we are actively developing the next generation of these unique products, including tailormade solutions with functionalities engineered to boost the performance, efficiency and sustainability of recycled plastics or retain virgin-like properties. By enhancing color, reducing odor, improving melt flow and minimizing gels, we can achieve consistent, high-quality outcomes together and accelerate the shift towards a more sustainable plastics value chain.”

Kisuma’s magnesium-based additives for recycled plastics are focused on aligning with the European Union’s ambitious directives for increasing the recycled content in many industries, such as packaging (PPWR), automotive (ELV), and building & construction. However, driven by the company’s aggressive goals for carbon neutrality and due to the non-toxic HSE profile of these products, they can provide further value to customers seeking to minimize their product carbon footprint and eliminate the use of additives at risk of becoming regulated out of the market on a more global basis.
