IMCD to showcase sustainability survey insights and future-focused expertise at K 2025

-

IMCD Group, a global leading partner for the distribution and formulation of speciality chemicals and ingredients, will be at K 2025 to demonstrate its expertise in supporting a wide range of market needs through its latest segment-focused future briefs and insights from its latest sustainability survey.

At K 2025, IMCD Advanced Materials will highlight the insights from its recent Sustainability in Industry survey. The survey gathered data from over 600 respondents in the industry located in more than 40 countries. The data was analysed by industry, region, main markets and company size to identify sustainability drivers, priorities, challenges and support needs.

Four key findings stand out:

  1. The industry is gaining maturity in adopting sustainable solutions.
  2. While cost remains the most common challenge (48%), performance has emerged as an essential requirement to adopt sustainable practices (28%). This challenge is even greater when it comes to recycling and waste reduction.
  3. 87% of respondents are concerned about greenwashing, which is also seen as an opportunity. This concern underscores IMCD’s long-standing commitment to being a trusted, independent partner, validating sustainable solutions and helping customers confidently navigate a complex market.
  4. Beyond regulatory compliance, environmental impact, and customer demand are the top forces driving sustainability adoption, with 60% of respondents citing customer pressure as a major influence. Importantly, there are some regional and industry nuances, particularly when it comes to regulatory compliance.

The results also provided detailed insights across eight sustainable practices: recycling, waste reduction, renewable sources, CO2 reduction, end-of-life enhancement, weight reduction, biodegradables, and compostables.

Dan Andersson, global head of sustainability at IMCD Advanced Materials, adds, “Our recent survey shows that trade-offs are no longer accepted. Sustainability must perform, and sustainable materials are expected to match or exceed high-performance standards without escalating costs.”

Visitors at IMCD’s Stand D28 in Hall 6 will be able to explore how to act on these insights with market-focused solutions. Additionally, at Power Up with IMCD, Future Briefs are offered on the following four out of their 23 market segments:

  1. Automotive
  2. Medical and healthcare
  3. Film and packaging
  4. Wire and cable
