Flexo Image Graphics (FIG), a leading distributor and service provider of flexo presses and associated equipment in the Indian sub-continent, has organized a press meet in New Delhi, attended by a host of the company’s principals and the trade press. The event took place on 18 July 2023 at Hotel Crowne Plaza, New Delhi. FIG exclusively serves as the distributor for machines from global brands like Mark Andy, Rhyguan, Rotoflex, Luster, Kluge, KDS Quantum, and Presstek in India.

Present at the press event were FIG’s principals, Manohar Dhugga, director of engineering and service, Rotoflex; Phil Baldwin, European sales manager, Mark Andy; and Krisyanto Ekokurniawan, international sales manager, Luster LightTech.

“We have been catering various flexo presses and allied machines in India over the last 23 years. Headquartered in New Delhi, we have branches in Mumbai and Chennai, backed by our team of 42 well-trained and experienced technical and marketing professionals,” said Gourav Roy, managing director, Flexo Image Graphics.

Roy added, “During the past 2-3 years, FIG has successfully completed numerous installations of primary products such as Rotoflex and Mark Andy presses. Our clientele encompasses 322 customers solely in India, and we also serve some across neighboring regions like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Today, the flexo market is quite mature with full of opportunities and possibilities. So, FIG has been constantly developing and extending training processes to machine operators. In fact, we are planning to launch training courses, which will include hands-on training programmes and theoretical classes.”

“Having been in the industry for more than 30 years with Rotoflex, a brand known for high-speed slitting, rewinding and inspection machines, as well as advanced die-cutting systems. I am quite privileged to be able to take part in the company’s long and successful journey. We are proud of implementing full automation in our slitting rewinding machines which we have so far a score of 6500 installations worldwide, including Southeast Asia,” said Manohar Dhugga of Rotoflex.

Recalling his early days in the industry and experiences at Mark Andy, Phil Baldwin said, “I actually entered the printing industry straight out of school when I was just 17. So far, I have completed my 26 years in the industry and 11 years at Mark Andy. With accurate register control and other features, Mark Andy presses are designed for ease of use, without trained operators. Actually, we design our presses to help the converters increase the bottom line.”

Luster has been in India as one of the key principles of FIG. “It has been quite good for us to have a localized support for our customers,” mentioned Krisyanto, adding that they have introduced quite a number of machines with 100% inspection, specifically for the label and packaging sectors. For the label industry, Luster has several solutions like inline workflow, offline inspection, etc.

In his concluding note, Roy mentioned that industry people these days are looking for machines and technologies that improve the internal processes to help operators run the machines at ease and adoption of advanced solutions like Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) which many convertors in the client list of FIG are increasingly adopting. He conveyed, “Time has changed as the industry is on the pathway to revolutionary & ultramodern machines and technologies for printing, production, automation, finishing, and others processes, which we have all under our roof.”
