Brilliant Polymers, India’s largest manufacturer of laminating adhesives for flexible packaging, will be a Platinum Sponsor of the Eliteplus 12th Specialty Films & Flexible Packaging Global Summit 2025. The company will be represented by its global sales and tech services teams, who will engage with customers, partners, and industry peers at the event.

“As the flexible packaging industry evolves to meet ambitious global sustainability goals, it is clear that the path forward lies not only in innovation but also in responsibility. At Brilliant Polymers, we believe that flexible packaging – especially when paired with solvent-free laminating adhesives – offers a compelling solution to the environmental challenges facing the packaging world today,” said Gaurav Talwar, managing director of Brilliant Polymers.

Flexible packaging has long held a sustainability advantage over rigid alternatives like glass and metal. However, the narrative around sustainability in packaging is often misunderstood. The problem is not flexible packaging itself, but the lack of adequate systems for its collection, sorting, and recycling. While rigid formats benefit from well-established recycling infrastructure, flexible packaging is disadvantaged by limited recovery pathways. The industry must therefore shift its focus from blaming materials to building circular systems that enable reuse and recycling at scale. This transformation will require collaboration across the packaging value chain – including manufacturers, brand owners, policymakers, and recyclers.

“At Brilliant Polymers, we are proud to be at the forefront of this transition through our leadership in solvent-free laminating adhesive technology. Solvent-free adhesives offer multiple sustainability benefits across environmental, operational, and economic dimensions. They are 100% solids, contain no volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and emit zero solvent vapours – eliminating the need for solvent recovery or incineration systems and significantly reducing the energy footprint of production. With no risk of solvent retention, they ensure food safety and product integrity, making them ideal for sensitive applications such as food packaging,” Talwar said.

The operational advantages of solvent-free adhesives are equally compelling – faster line speeds, quicker curing, and reduced downtime all translate into improved efficiency and cost savings. In fact, solvent-free systems can offer over 50% savings in applied adhesive costs compared to solvent-based systems. They also improve workplace safety by eliminating flammable and toxic solvents, thereby reducing fire hazards and creating healthier environments for operators.

“From a sustainability standpoint, solvent-free adhesives are future-ready. They support the development of recyclable mono-material structures, such as PE-PE or PP-PP laminates, which are critical for advancing the circular economy. At Brilliant, over 70% of our adhesive sales now come from solvent-free products, and we continue to invest in R&D to enhance their performance, versatility, and environmental compatibility,” said Talwar.

At Eliteplus 2025, Brilliant Polymers will present several breakthrough case studies showcasing solvent-free innovations in action. “In a world where every packaging decision counts, solvent-free laminating adhesives represent not just a technical advancement, but a strategic imperative. By embracing them, the flexible packaging industry can deliver safer, smarter, and more sustainable solutions – and at Brilliant Polymers, we are proud to lead that charge,” Talwar concluded.
