Aptar Closures’ flow control valve combination adopted by Cheer Pack

-

Aptar Closures, a global leader in consumer product dispensing, dosing and protection technologies, is partnering with Cheer Pack North America – the continent’s leading manufacturer of spouted flexible pouch and cap packaging – to provide a leak-free customer experience for Cheer Pack’s new SqueezeNSip spout. Utilizing Aptar Closures’ patented Elastomeric Flow Control technology, Cheer Pack’s pouches have been outfitted with SureSnap, a combination flow control valve and retaining ring that, after opening, allows dispensing and reliably closes upon release for clean product cutoff.

Compatible with a wide range of its pouch configurations, Cheer Pack is positioning the SqueezeNSip Spout as a mess-free, portable dispensing solution for juices and other beverages, as well as low-viscosity items such as drinkable yogurt, fruit juices and smoothies. Ultra-lightweight and convenient for both adults and children, the spout dispenses only when desired – making it suitable for school lunches, travel and other on-the-go settings. As an added benefit, in a landscape where consumers increasingly demand more sustainable packaging, pouches incorporating the SqueezeNSip spout comprise up to 60% less material than rigid plastic bottles.

Aptar Closures’ SureSnap features a high-quality elastomeric valve combined with a polyolefin retaining ring. The solution is available in an array of sizes, opening pressures and flow rates to suit a broad set of containers, products and customer needs. This versatility was an appealing benefit for Cheer Pack, as SureSnap is compatible with each of the three closures used for its SqueezeNSip Spout: the conventional ClassicCap, lighter-weight Vizi cap, and CheerValue simple cap. To ensure consumer safety, all SureSnap valves are phthalate- and BPA-free, and molded from food-grade materials.

Cheer Pack and Aptar Closures have been collaborating on various pouch, spout and valve dispensing solutions for the past decade, focusing on combinations that improve the user experience. For its SqueezeNSip Spout, the SureSnap valve’s spill-deterring, user-friendly flow control was seen by Cheer Pack as an attractive feature not only for existing product categories, but also a gateway to markets like beverages that otherwise may have been difficult to penetrate.

This latest collaboration showcases progress toward overcoming a longstanding obstacle for premium-level dispensing solutions: cost-benefit considerations. Historically, both the spouted pouched items and broader food & beverage container segments have prioritized cost efficiencies over user-friendliness in their closures. The SqueezeNSip spout exemplifies a move away from price-first decision-making and toward experiential factors like consistent flow control, clean/hygienic product cutoff and leak resistance. Among other benefits, these next-level dispensing solutions allow for premium brand price points and, most importantly, retained customers.

“We are excited to partner with Cheer Pack North America to expand our SureSnap technology further into the spouted pouch market,” said Jordan Kinsler, Sales Manager North America for Aptar Closures. “We are confident that our valve will elevate product dispensing experiences for customers of all ages by providing superior cleanliness and functionality.”

“We are proud of our long-term relationship with Aptar,” said Al Madonna, vice president of marketing at Cheer Pack North America. “By aligning Aptar’s dispensing valve technological leadership with our SqueezeNSip flow-control spouted pouch innovation, we are thrilled to help beverage brand owners expand usage occasions and deliver an enhanced consumer experience through a lightweight, fun and convenient packaging solution.”
