Valmet has introduced the Valmet DNAe Optimization Suite, a scalable software suite of optimization applications designed to improve plant performance and operational efficiency. The solution can be deployed in process plants using control systems supplied by Valmet as well as those from other providers. According to the company, it is suitable for applications in circular processes, hydrogen industries, and traditional chemical and refining operations.
“Process optimization helps reduce variability, improve energy efficiency, and increase throughput while maintaining stable operations. With the Valmet DNAe Optimization Suite, our customers’ engineering teams can configure and deploy optimization applications themselves, or work with us, depending on their needs,” said Petri Köykkä, director, plant performance solutions, energy & process systems, automation solutions, Valmet.
According to the company, the software suite enables performance improvements across an entire plant or within specific subprocesses. The Optimization Suite forms part of the broader Valmet DNAe development program, which includes the ongoing introduction of new tools, features, and AI capabilities. The company said these developments are intended to support customers, strengthen collaboration with value-added reseller partners and OEMs, and help process industries move toward more autonomous operations.
The Valmet DNAe Optimization Suite supports an iterative optimization workflow that connects performance monitoring, application design, and operational optimization. Users can employ dashboards and key performance indicators to identify improvement opportunities, develop and validate models using process data, and deploy advanced control applications aimed at improving throughput, stability, and efficiency.
The suite also enables customers and Valmet specialists to develop and run machine learning models on-premise, with database integration and direct connections to control solutions and operational applications.
The Valmet DNAe Optimization Suite can be integrated with the Valmet DNAe distributed control system, supporting commissioning and lifecycle management. It can also be deployed as a standalone optimization layer for plants operating with other control systems.
The suite includes applications for model predictive control and non-linear rule-based methods for advanced process control, virtual sensor capabilities, a calculation library for estimation and online modeling, controller design tools, and analytics and dashboard creation.
