Bengaluru-based Usha Prints has invested in a Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 230 digital label press to cater to the short-run digital labels market. The deal was announced at the Pamex 2023 exhibition in Mumbai. This will be Konica Minolta’s first AL 230 label press in Bengaluru. BH Srinivas, owner of Usha Prints, shared that the company has also invested in a high-end flexo label press for printing long-run labels, and a host of label finishing and converting equipment.

Srinivas said, “We have wanted to expand our business ever since my son joined in. We are already printing offset labels and have a fair idea about the markets in Bengaluru and nearby locations. The investment will empower our new setup with both short- and long-run labels printing capabilities to cater to vast segments including food and cosmetics.”

Usha Prints is a premier offset and digital print service provider with multiple outlets across three cities of Karnataka. Usha Print was started in 1985 and caters to the digital print market. The company has another division, Usha Digital Print, which started in 2014 and caters to the offset and commercial print market. The company also prints sheetfed labels.

The company has nine branches in Bengaluru, two in Mysuru, and one in Tumkur. Usha Prints, the offset division of the company, has four offset presses – three Komori and one Heidelberg. On the other hand, its digital division, Usha Digital Print, has 12 Konica Minolta digital presses. The company has a diverse range of clients, including small businesses, large corporations and individuals. Usha Prints offers a wide range of printing solutions, including brochures, flyers, business cards, banners and other marketing materials.

Pawan Chauhan, business head, IP business at Konica Minolta, said, “We are very happy with this installation. We are further excited because with this installation we have achieved two milestones – first, it is the first AL230 installation in Bengaluru. Second, with this installation, now even the job work customers are coming forward to go with digital label press installations. So, with Usha Prints taking this call to further expand in roll to roll label business is very heartening to us. We are very thankful to Usha for having its confidence in our company.”
