TechNova and HP inaugurated the TechNova Touch Center at the TTC Industrial Area in Turbhe MIDC, Turbhe, Navi Mumbai on 9 January 2023. The primary objective of the Touch Center is to offer the Indian print and packaging industry a platform for learning new skills, and technologies, and achieving operational excellence by adopting the latest trends in the industry.

The 3,000 sqft. state-of-the-art center at Turbhe offers a complete experience of HP Indigo digital printing technology, interesting applications and business growth opportunities for PSPs as well as brand owners. The center has an HP Indigo 6K digital press running live. More machines to further boost the center will be added soon.

An extension of HP’s Graphic Experience centers in Alpharetta, Barcelona and Singapore, the TechNova Touch Center will provide services like demonstrations of HP Indigo technology and performance, new application development for PSPs and brands, educational sessions for the new generation coming to the print business and for print-packaging students. Touch is a knowledge-sharing center launched by TechNova in 1996 and is an acronym for TechNova Open University for CHange.

“When someone talks about machines like HP, which have a significant impact and also cost, it is difficult to go ahead with the investment without actually experiencing it. So having a center like this, where people not only can get a feel of what these machines can offer but also what they can use them for, could become a strategy formation center for them. They can come here, experience it, develop strategies, get brand owners involved, train their people, and much more. A lot of issues can also be sorted out so that when they make the final decision to buy the machine, they are 100% sure that they are doing the right thing,” said Pranav Parikh, CMD of TechNova.

Parikh added, “Our journey in digital printing started in 1993 with our alliance with Indigo for marketing their presses in India. Soon thereafter, HP acquired the Indigo business, and aligned the capabilities of the press to suit customer needs.”

Meanwhile, TechNova developed special polyester-based non-tearable water-resistant films for the production of photographs on Indigo presses. This has helped HP to convert the photo market from silver halide paper-based photos to digital polyester-based photos with multiple benefits including non-tear, water-resistant, double-sided printing, among many others. “We have now deepened our partnership with HP to include the full range of Indigo Label solutions and inkjet press for Folding Cartons and Publishing. TechNova’s philosophy of ‘Customer First’ with the mission to continuously enhance the competitive advantage of our customers has been the driving force for this alliance. The Touch Center is an initiative in this direction.”

A Appadurai, country business manager – Indigo and Inkjet Business Solutions, HP India, said, “Our mission is to provide a level playing field for the start-ups and SMBs in high-quality world-class printed packaging. Today HP Indigo converters cater to about 10000 such start-ups. Our target is to multiply it by 10 times with the inauguration of this demo center. We want to be the incubator of packaging for these start-ups. We believe the second generation of the print industry would love doing this knowing that they are making a big difference to the world.”

“Embracing digital is the need of the hour. We are partnering with the world’s leading digital print company HP to help our customers expand their capabilities to benefit from the unique profit opportunities. HP’s strategy to create an ecosystem of printers, brand owners, profitable applications and partners is unique. HP’s futuristic technology fits in perfectly with TechNova’s business strategy of focusing on customers’ needs to enhance their profitability,” explained CG Ramakrishnan, executive director and CEO of TechNova.
