Shree Plast installs Optima flexo press

Czech flexographic press manufacturer Soma has completed the installation of an Optima flexo press at Shree Plast Industries, a packaging converter based in Satara, Maharashtra, India.

Shree Plast specializes in laminated flexible packaging and printed poly films, serving packaging applications across food segments – including bakery, dairy, snacks, and spices – as well as agro, industrial, FMCG, and pharmaceutical markets. The company focuses on customized packaging solutions and multicolor printing.

The installed Optima 650-880-8 EG press, according to the company, delivers faster setup times, reduced material waste, and consistent print quality, supported by Soma’s automation features.

“Our goal was to further strengthen print quality while increasing operational efficiency. Soma’s Optima and its automation capabilities provide exactly that – a reliable, high-performance solution that supports our growth ambitions,” said Santosh Vaidya, director at Shree Plast Industries.

The installation reflects a broader trend of regional converters investing in advanced flexographic technology to remain competitive in the packaging market.

“Soma is proud to support Shree Plast Industries on their journey towards higher productivity and print excellence. This installation demonstrates how innovative technology can help converters unlock new opportunities,” said Suhas Kulkarni, general manager, Soma India.
