Shivtek Spechemi Industries, a flagship company of the Shiva Group of Industries, has acquired approximately 21 acres of industrial land in Pungam (Ankleshwar), Gujarat. The company will invest over INR 150 crore to construct a greenfield integrated manufacturing complex designed to meet domestic and global demand for specialty chemicals and clean fuel technologies.

The expansion builds on Shivtek’s existing multi-hub footprint across Kurnool (South), Rajpura (North), and Dahej (West). Situated along the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway (NE-4) and near Hazira Port, the Pungam site offers access to freight corridors, raw material sources, and international shipping lanes. Connectivity will be further augmented by the upcoming Bhadbhut Barrage Project, creating integration with Shivtek’s primary manufacturing plant at Dahej.

Speaking about the acquisition, Amitt Nenwani, managing director, Shivtek Spechemi Industries, said, “This milestone is also a step towards supporting the Government of India’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and Atmanirbhar Bharat, and we look forward to showcasing this project at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2027. Located on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and in proximity to Hazira port and our Dahej facility, gives us the connectivity and infrastructure we need to scale efficiently. This new facility will not only expand our specialty chemicals portfolio but also allow us to pilot next-generation Methanol-to-Gas and Hydrogen Fuel technologies for the shipping industry, reinforcing our commitment to innovation and cleaner energy.”

According to the company, the acquisition marks a milestone in Shivtek’s long-term growth strategy. The upcoming facility is expected to expand the company’s production capabilities, strengthen supply chain resilience, support product diversification, and address demand for specialty chemicals in domestic and international markets. The project will comprise manufacturing units, utilities, quality control laboratories, warehousing facilities, storage infrastructure, and supporting services designed to meet global manufacturing and safety standards, the company said.

Phase 1 will include manufacturing of pharma-grade hydrochloric acid (HCl), as well as the processing and manufacturing of specialty feedstock and specialty petrochemicals, with a planned capacity of 84,000 MTPA.

Phase 2 will establish pilot-scale units for Methanol-to-Gas and Hydrogen Fuel technologies, addressing the maritime sector’s shift toward cleaner energy alternatives. The company will also expand its product portfolio to include petrochemical intermediates ranging from low boilers to heavy boilers, with an additional capacity of 60,000 MTPA.

Upon commercial operation, the complex is expected to supply feedstock and intermediates to end-use sectors including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, personal care, industrial coatings, water treatment, and textiles, among other specialty chemical applications.

The company said the project is designed to generate direct and indirect employment across its construction and operational phases. Built to international environmental, health, and safety (EHS) benchmarks, the facility is intended to reflect Shivtek’s commitment to responsible chemical manufacturing, supply chain resilience, and long-term value creation.

Phase 1 is targeted for commissioning by March 2027, with commercial operations expected to begin shortly thereafter.
