Iwasaki and Rotatek team up to offer cost-effective label solutions in Spain

-

Rotatek Printing and Packaging Technologies Spain and Iwasaki International Japan have announced their cooperation in the Spanish market for the sale of short-run semi-rotative machines for the production of self‐adhesive labels. Both these companies have a long history of manufacturing and service and are market leaders in their respective fields. Spanish customers will now have access to cost effective Japanese Technology for their label production. Iwasaki is a global provider of high-quality solutions for the semi-rotative label market for many years.

Iwasaki specializes in the production and sales of semi-rotative presses, wet offset and dry offset printing, Flexo and post‐processing equipment such as cold and hot foil attachments, delam relam, semi-rotary, and flatbed hot foil die cutting, and embossing.

Iwasaki offers two primary models: TR3 and IF330. The TR 3 model is capable of both wet and dry offset printing. More than 1000 TR Series of Offset machines are installed globally.

The IF330 model is the world’s first semi-rotative printing press designed for flexographic printing. The IF 330 allows existing Flexo printers to have a short-run solution using their existing plates, inks, etc. which offers quality consistency between short and long runs. Over 200 IF series of Flexo machines are installed globally.

The semi-rotative process allows cost-efficient production of short-run labels competing against digital production and the offset process allows the printing of textured substrates especially for wine labels. Both models have a maximum web width of 330mm and a max repeat of up to 320mm. Key markets include wine, alcobev, cosmetic, and FMCG markets.

Under the new agreement, Rotatek will discontinue the manufacturing of the Bravina model and will solely focus on providing service and technical support, as well as efficient after‐sales assistance exclusively to current customers of both the Bravina model and Iwasaki’s TR3 and IF330 models in the Spanish market.

For customers requiring a wider width, Rotatek will continue to manufacture and offer the Brava 450 wet offset press with options of flexo units, cold stamping, flatbed hot stamping, rotary screen printing, and accessories.
