During the 10th India Corr Expo 2023 at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, Domino showcased its innovative solutions for addressing the challenge of online dynamic information printing in the corrugated industry. The company introduced three cutting-edge technologies tailored to meet the diverse needs of the corrugated and carton box industry.

The first showcased product was the TIJ (Thermal Inkjet) printer technology – a neat and clean cartridge-based system known for its ease of installation on various production lines. Operating at a high resolution of up to 600 dpi, it produces characters ranging from 12.5 to 12.7 mm in height. This technology can print alphanumeric characters as well as popular barcodes, 2D codes, and QR codes, widely used across sectors for product tracking and tracing.

Next in line was the CX350I, a high-resolution large-character printer. This coding technology is ideal for applications requiring characters larger than 12 mm in height, whether in a single or multiple lines. Alongside alphanumeric characters, it seamlessly handles barcodes, QR codes, and even larger QR code sizes. Additionally, it accommodates the printing of individual SKU logos, making it a valuable asset for the corrugated industry. Its modular design allows for easy integration into various production lines, interfacing smoothly with ERP systems, client servers, and PLC integrations.

The third technology featured was a print-and-apply labeling system. Traditionally, labels for boxes are manually printed and applied offline. Domino’s M230I print and apply labeling system streamlines this process by printing and applying labels online according to client specifications. This adaptable system can be integrated into different production lines and PLCs, connecting seamlessly with client ERP systems, servers, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) often employed in warehouse automation and retail fulfillment centers.

Sailendra Behera, general manager OEM at Domino, emphasized the significance of these three technologies in the industry, stating, “These three technologies play a pivotal role in the corrugated industry, which is why we have chosen to showcase them here.”

Discussing the market, Behera observed, “The coding and marking market has consistently performed well, primarily driven by key sectors such as FMCG, healthcare, food and beverage, and electronics. These industries have demonstrated consistent growth over the years, contributing to the robust performance of our industry and offering ample opportunities for expansion.”

He added, “Customer expectations continue to evolve. People are no longer focused solely on hardware; they now emphasize the integration capabilities of machines, data interfaces, and complete automation. This is where Domino stands out, as all our technologies seamlessly integrate with various production components and customer ERP systems, aligning with the evolving needs of our clients.”

Regarding the exhibition, Behera noted, “While the crowd size may not be substantial, the quality of attendees is exceptional. We are seeing strong interest, particularly in the high-resolution CX350I printer and the print-and-apply labeling systems. These two technologies are drawing significant attention at the exhibition.”
