FIG brings international technology suppliers together at LOUPE India 2026

Flexo Image Graphics (FIG) brought together representatives of international technology suppliers at a press conference during LOUPE India 2026 to discuss the production requirements and investment priorities of Indian label converters. Held at Hall 11, Stall L1, at India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida, the session featured FIG managing director Gourav Roy and representatives from Mark Andy, Rhyguan, Luster, DCM ATN and XSYS. The participating companies covered different stages of label production, including prepress, printing, inspection, finishing and converting.

“Label converters need technology that meets today’s production requirements while supporting their next stage of growth. Bringing our international partners together creates an opportunity for customers to discuss their applications directly with the people behind these solutions. FIG’s role is to connect that expertise with local understanding and technical support,” Roy said.

Discussions focused on how converters can evaluate equipment investments in the context of their production requirements, rather than relying solely on individual machine specifications. Job mix, workflow compatibility, operator skills, service support and future expansion were among the factors highlighted.

Florian Stroe, sales manager at Mark Andy, said printing technology selection should begin with an understanding of the converter’s applications and business objectives. Print quality, production flexibility, job changeovers and the ability to handle new work are key considerations when evaluating a printing platform, he added.

The discussion also covered finishing and converting, with an emphasis on aligning downstream capacity with printing output.

“Finishing capability needs to develop alongside printing capacity. Understanding the customer’s substrates, job lengths and delivery requirements helps identify the right configuration. Our objective is to help converters assess solutions that fit their production needs and provide room for growth,” said Happy Cao, export manager at Zhejiang Rhyguan Machinery.

Luster’s Industrial Vision System business unit highlighted the role of inspection in maintaining quality throughout label production. Jenifer Yuan, international sales manager at Luster LightTech, said inspection systems need to be integrated into the production workflow, enabling operators to identify defects and use inspection data to support corrective action.

Carrie Duan, international business director at Luster LightTech, added that understanding a converter’s quality expectations, production processes and team capabilities helps align inspection technology with factory requirements.

DCM ATN’s contribution centered on evaluating converting equipment as part of the overall production process. Jason Elvery, area sales manager – Asia, said factors such as material handling, changeovers, operating requirements and downstream output should be considered alongside equipment specifications.

Prepress and plate technology were also part of the discussion. Roy Schoettle, vice president of sales for APAC at XSYS Thailand, said plate selection and preparation need to be aligned with the substrate, ink system and printing conditions to support consistent production.

Prasenjit Das, general manager at XSYS – South Asia, highlighted the importance of technical guidance and application support in helping converters adopt technology and improve processes. Understanding production conditions, he said, helps identify opportunities for improvement and develop the skills required to sustain them.

The participating companies presented perspectives on how printing, inspection, prepress and converting technologies can be assessed as interconnected parts of a production operation.
