Delhi-based Ess Kay Enterprises has been active in the agricultural sector dealing with a string of agro-based products such as pesticides, fertilizers, etc. Engaging in labeling and packaging of the products, the company has forayed into label printing with constant investments in Mark Andy flexo label presses from Flexo Image Graphics (FIG), a leading distributor and service provider of flexo presses and associated equipment in the Indian subcontinent.

Established in 1985 Ess Kay Group has four companies – Ess Kay Enterprises, Ess Kay Propack, Mittal Enterprises, and National Print & Pack. The four-decade-old family-owned business was established by the late Prem Chand Mittal, Ram Chander Mittal and Shiv Kumar Mittal. The group serves the agrochemical industry and around 95% of its production is dedicated to this segment.

The group produces complete packaging solutions for the agrochemical industry, including HDPE bottles, caps and closures, literature, shrink sleeves, mono cartons, labels and others. Shiv Kumar Mittal and Aman Mittal are responsible for Ess Kay Enterprises, in which Shiv takes care of laminated pouches and Aman for the label. Ess Kay Group is growing at double-digit CAGR year-on-year.

Aman Mittal, partner, Ess Kay Enterprises, says, “Ours is very much a family-owned business with close involvement of a big family tree. We are looking forward to expanding our label printing and packaging business into other sectors like cosmetics, pharmaceutical and beverage. Mamaearth from the cosmetic domain has already been in our client list.”

Shelf-adhesive paper stickers, chromo paper labels, pesticide bottle labels, pharmaceutical labels, laminated pouches, HDP bags, etc. are some of the key products in the current portfolio of Ess Kay Enterprises. The company offers around 25 packaging items. “We forayed into label printing business to fulfill the sheer labeling requirement of products of some agro companies which have been associated with us for years,” he adds.

He continues, “Had it not been Mark Andy label presses, we would have delayed our label printing venture which we started in 2018. We were on a mission to hunt for the right label press for our new venture before we banked on the Mark Andy Evolution Series E3 label press at FIG. The label press ticked all the boxes of our requirements. In addition, we were quite convinced and happy with the way the after-sales support team of FIG guided us about the new label press and its technicalities.”

On their second investment in Mark Andy label press, Aman Mittal says, “The second Mark Andy label press from FIG, i.e. Mark Andy Evolution Series E5, is a mark of our continuing relationship with FIG. This is really an amazing label press.” Mark Andy Evolution Series E5 is capable to run at the maximum speed of 750 fpm taking on a broad range of substrates from 12–305 microns. The press has features for repeat printing ranging from 140–610 mm and maximum die repetition up to 610 mm.

“Apart from the machine’s advanced features, user-friendliness, and being economical among others in its class, we are thankful for the dedicated support of the after-sales team of FIG,” says Mittal, adding that the team swiftly attends them whenever needed. In addition to Mark Andy, FIG is an authorized dealer of other world-class machines from brands like Rhyguan, Rotoflex, Luster, Kluge, KDS Quantum efficiency system and Presstek through its wide network of branches in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai with a centralized customer support department for after-sales service.
