Epson inkjet printers win ‘Best of the Best’ at 2026 Red Dot Awards

-

Seiko Epson’s inkjet printers in the ET-4950, ET-3950, and ET-2950 series, along with the EW-M678FT, EW-638T, and L6360 models, have received the Best of the Best Award at the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2026 – the highest distinction in the competition, given to only a small percentage of submissions. This is the seventh time Epson has received the honor. In addition, two projectors, one scanner, two dry-process office papermaking systems, one printer, and one I/O box from Epson received a Red Dot Award.

Best of the Best award-winning design

The award-winning printers are high-capacity EcoTank inkjet models designed for small offices and home use. According to the company, the designs aim to balance usability with an aesthetic that fits home interiors, responding to increased interest in home and remote workspaces. The models also incorporate environmental considerations and are said to offer a longer product lifespan than their predecessors.

Red Dot: Product Design winners

Epson’s Lifestudio Flex EF-72, EF-71, EF-52, and EF-51 smart home projectors run on Google TV OS and are designed for large-screen video-on-demand viewing. The company states they use a Triple Core Engine with three LCD panels and a three-color light source, and feature Sound by Bose speakers. An adjustable stand and real-time automatic correction are intended to simplify setup, and an ambient light function is included to enhance the viewing environment.

The Lifestudio Pop EF-62B/N, EF-61G/R/W, and EF-50G/R/T projectors also run Google TV OS and feature the same Triple Core Engine and Sound by Bose audio. These models are compact and available in multiple color variants, according to the company.

The DS-1760WN and DS-1730 are compact A4 flatbed scanners with an automatic document feeder. Epson states the models are designed to aid business efficiency through digitization and reduced paper use. They feature an operation panel described as intuitive, and their footprint width is 25 mm smaller than previous models, according to the company.

The PaperLab Q-5000/Q-40 is a dry-process office papermaking system that produces new paper from used paper using minimal water. The main unit is said to be approximately 50% smaller in volume than its predecessor. The paper uses a natural binder and is described by the company as suitable for repeated recycling. A separate paper source processor allows used paper to be collected and processed away from the main unit.

The PaperLab A-8100 is another dry office papermaking machine using minimal water. In addition to A4 and A3 sizes, it supports extended A3 sheets for bookbinding applications, and can produce paper in various thicknesses and colors. Built-in sensors detect the type of paper inserted and automatically adjust papermaking conditions, according to the company.

The SurePress L-5034 is an inkjet label press using Epson’s water-based pigment ink. It prints at 13.5 meters per minute at 1200×1200 dpi resolution and is aimed at medium-size lot adhesive label production across food and industrial applications. The company states that improved maintenance on the model reduces daily workload and requires less manpower.

The Smart SURF Bridge SB-H50 is an I/O box designed for use with tablet-based POS systems. It is said to support flexible control of a wide range of peripheral devices, drawing on driver control and ePOS-Device technology developed through Epson’s receipt printer business. The company states its compact form factor and durable design allow installation in varied locations to suit different checkout configurations.
