The company says the tool is tailored to each market segment to guide users to the optimal printing plate or combination of plate, equipment, and surface screening software, from the comprehensive XSYS portfolio.

The tool guides users through a series of simple steps. First, they choose their active segment(s): flexible packaging, tag & label, corrugated pre-print or corrugated post-print, before identifying themselves as a printer (with or without in-house platemaking) or as a repro house/trade shop. Once that has been established, the next step is to choose the ink type and then the substrate, before homing in on the specific area of concern, whether it is costs, print quality, productivity, or sustainability (including health and safety).
