Xeikon launches Ecolyne press at Labelexpo Asia 2025

-

Xeikon has entered the Asia-Pacific label market with a new digital press offered through Ecolyne, a subscription-based capacity service. The model allows label converters to access production capacity without making a traditional equipment purchase. The machine was launched at the Labelexpo Asia 2025 in Shanghai.

In today’s label printing landscape, many converters face the same barrier: the high upfront investment of buying a press, coupled with rapidly increasing demands for smaller runs, quicker turnarounds and flexible capacity. The global digital label-printing market is expanding and projected to grow from roughly USD 12.3 billion in 2025 to USD 20.6 billion by 2035.

Yet smaller printers and e-commerce-driven label converters still hesitate because they often lack the capital or the operational bandwidth to adopt digital production solutions. Enter the Ecolyne press: by subscribing to label-printing capacity rather than owning the hardware, converters can scale production when needed and sidestep heavy investment. With a capacity-first approach, the focus shifts from machine ownership to printing performance, precisely what many emerging label printers are looking for.

“In many parts of Asia, the label-printing scene is changing fast,” says Walter Benz, Xeikon’s president. “Small to mid-sized converters also see increasing demand for shorter runs and faster turnaround. They need access to digital label-printing capacity now. That’s why we bring Ecolyne to Asia first, we see a strong need here for simple, reliable digital production without the burden of ownership.”

The new machine, Ecolyne, launches as a fully managed digital label press solution, with subscription-based capacity. Designed for high-quality label production, the machine boasts a 330 mm web width, 25 m/min print speed and 1200 dpi resolution with the ability to run substrates from coated or uncoated paper to PP (white or clear), PET and metallised film. Using a food-safe dry toner system. The Ecolyne press is available in both a 4-color (CMYK) and 5-color (CMYK+white) configuration.

Leveraging Xeikon’s decades of proven engineering, this solution stands apart from many entry-level platforms in terms of reliability. With Xeikon handling installation, servicing, and uptime, converters gain instant access to digital capacity backed by global expertise.
