Wausau launches black vellum laminate for wine and spirits labels

-

Wausau Coated Products has introduced a black vellum laminate label stock designed for premium branding applications. The material features a deep black finish suited for a modern appearance and supports embellishment techniques such as embossing, foil stamping and die cutting.

The label stock includes a 1.2-mil clear PET liner for strength in high-speed roll-to-roll applications and uses the i8308 adhesive for strong initial tack and long-term adhesion, including on difficult surfaces. The adhesive is resistant to UV exposure, water and solvents.

According to the company, the black vellum laminate (W037402) features a high-quality, reinforced uncoated black paper face with a smooth vellum finish. Engineered with “wet strength” properties, it excels in moist environments – making it the ideal choice for wine, spirits, and other premium beverages.

“Our new black vellum laminate is a game-changer for brands that demand both style and substance,” said Gina Roemke, roll product manager at Wausau Coated Products. “It’s the perfect blend of beauty, strength, and versatility.”

Wausau Coated Products is an independent family owned and operated manufacturing company with distribution facilities located in the USA and Mexico as well as distribution channels in Central and South America, the Caribbean, New Zealand, and Australia.
