Janumahanti Lakshmana Rao, chairman and managing director of Mold-Tek Packaging said, “The main agenda behind purchasing the Synchroline is to lower the prices of in-mold label printing while complying with high-quality international standards.”

Lakshmana Rao, deputy director, Mold-Tek Packaging, added, “The flexo press will provide high-quality printing on in-mold labels at a speed of 220 meter per minute and will help us to strengthen our capabilities and deliver jobs on a record time.”

Mold-Tek Packaging introduced the concept of IML packaging in India and they are the first company to have completely integrated facilities ranging from label printing and mold adaptations to make in-house robots. This investment further strengthens their in-mold packaging division.

Manipal International Printing Press invested in Lombardi Synchroline 530. Pritam Choudhary, managing director at Manipal Africa, said, “We are moving to a new city and have invested in a 10,000 square meter printing plant as our production capacity has increased by 50%. As of now, we are having three flexo and two gravure machines producing 550,000 linear meters a day. The new Lombardi Synchroline mid-web flexo press will be a perfect fit with our existing infrastructure and is meant to print short-run jobs of 10,000 linear meters and less. We will be installing it in our Nairobi plant.”

Choudhary added, “This will be the first Synchroline in eastern Africa and after this, we will bring in a range of label finishing machines to accommodate our growing production requirements.”

Hyderabad-based start-up Citrus Packaging has signed the 3rd deal a Synchroline 330 8-color UV press with chill drum, rotary diecutting, inline sheeting and the ability to print on substrate thickness of 12 to 500 micron.

Chenga Reddy of Citrus Packaging said, “There is a huge space in the printing industry to accommodate new players who can pitch to a range of customers.” Apart from Synchroline, Citrus has invested in Vinsak’s digital label printing and finishing solutions.

Ranesh Bajaj, director of Vinsak, said, “Labelexpo was a great exhibition for Vinsak and our partners. We have witnessed a record crowd this year. We would like to congratulate all three companies on the purchase of Synchroline presses. The machine is technologically sound and can print a range of substrates. It will help them to foray into newer packaging segment as well. Soon, we will install the machines at their plants.”
