At Printpack India 2025, UV Graphic stood out with an impressive lineup of machinery tailored for the label and flexible packaging industry. The company showcased a range of innovative solutions, including its 10-color flexo press with a 530 mm width, designed for flexible packaging and in-mold labels. “The press is capable of handling substrates from 8 microns to 450 microns,” said Abhay Datta director, UV Graphic Technologies. The company also displayed supporting equipment such as a 100% inspection system, an inline die-cutting machine for in-mold labels, screen printing machines, plate mounters, and digital embellishment machines.”

One of the standout innovations at the exhibition was UV Graphic’s digital screen printing machine. “This is the first time an Indian manufacturer has developed such a machine,” Datta said. Another key highlight was the company’s Distorun, a microprocessor and servo-based foil saver for cold foil stamping, launched in partnership with Kurz Germany. “Our cold foil saver supports registered holographic technology as well as standard foil applications, significantly reducing wastage,” he added. Additionally, UV Graphic introduced its 100% inspection system in collaboration with Lucid, reinforcing its commitment to quality and automation.

A standout feature highlighted by Datta in UV Graphic’s showcase was its large-format repeat capability. “Our machines can achieve a 42-inch repeat, which offers a distinct advantage for larger applications,” Datta explained.

UV Graphic is also at the forefront of integrating cutting-edge technology into its machines. “We have incorporated AI technology into our equipment, allowing for automatic setup based on key parameters with minimal input,” Datta explained. “Our machines are designed to have the shortest make-ready times, the fastest changeovers, and produce the least amount of waste. This focus on efficiency not only enhances performance but also supports our sustainability goals.”

Discussing the growth prospects of the in-mold label and flexible packaging market in India, Datta was optimistic about the industry’s trajectory. “This segment is witnessing tremendous growth, and we are proud to be the market leaders. All the leading in-mold label converters are using our equipment. We anticipate a 20% annual growth in this space, making it a significant opportunity for the future.”

When asked about global trends shaping the in-mold label industry, Datta highlighted efficiency and precision as key drivers. “Fastest make-ready, minimal wastage, and quick setup times are the defining trends for high-performance machinery,” he explained.

UV Graphic also received a remarkable response at Printpack India 2025. “The exhibition has been fantastic for us – we have sold three machines at the show,” Datta revealed. “One has gone to iPack Manufacturers – a part of the Syndicate Labels Group, another to Devendra Prints & Packaging, and a third to Dashmesh Foils.”

Looking ahead, UV Graphic is focusing on technological advancements and sustainability. “We have integrated AI technology into our machines, allowing automated setup based on key parameters,” Datta shared. “By minimizing waste and reducing changeover times, we are aligning with global sustainability goals.”

As a message to label converters and packaging professionals, Datta emphasized the importance of investing in advanced machinery. “Many businesses opt for second-hand machines with obsolete technology, but the key to a bright future lies in adopting the latest equipment that delivers superior quality and performance,” he concluded.
