Trivium worked with Rexona to create a unique aluminum aerosol can that displays snippets from the Now United pop group citing their members

Trivium Packaging, the USD 2.8 billion global metal packaging supplier, has received three Pac Global Awards in two categories – Best-in-Class in the Package Innovation Technical Design category, and two awards of distinction in the Package Innovation Sustainable Design category. Trivium was awarded Best-in-class for its work on the Rexona Now United aerosol antiperspirant. This is the third year in a row Trivium has won in this category.

Trivium worked with Rexona to create a unique aluminum aerosol can that displays snippets from the Now United pop group citing their members. The packaging group’s main concern was putting up the faces of the Now United group members and keeping Rexona’s advertising quality intact. The aluminum aerosol can had to go through group approvals and technical feasibility tests.

Now United is an international pop group emerging from Los Angeles that portrays regional identities and nationalities from around the globe. Rexona antiperspirant cans were given a vibrant color tone to promote this cultural diversification. The aluminum aerosol cans display the group’s members in whole light with the use of an 8-color dry-offset technology. These Rexona aerosol cans are made using Trivium’s lightweight aluminum making them infinitely recyclable.

The aluminum refill bottles for Boticario were designed to work with a complementary dropper that makes refilling the bottles neat and concise

Marcelo Nery of Trivium Packaging said, “We always strive to make products that are visually engaging for both our clients and the consumer while also keeping the production process in mind. So we are excited to be honored for the third consecutive year in the Package Innovation, Technical Design category. We are committed to pushing technical design forward while reducing plastic packaging waste.”

Trivium was also recognized in the Package Innovation, Sustainable Design category for its work on framing Boticario’s Arbo cologne refill packaging. The aluminum refill bottles cut down on packaging waste, as they are made of 100% recyclable aluminum. This reduces the use of plastic bottles and encourages the growth of aluminum packaging, which can be easily used for refillable containers, ultimately slashing the company’s carbon emissions.

The aluminum refill bottles for Boticario were designed to work with a complementary dropper that makes refilling the bottles neat and concise. An aluminum bottle is a far more sustainable option for the storage of liquid products as the non-ferrous metal is odor free and opaque. This safeguards the integrity of the cosmetic brand by safely storing its contents and offering an extended shelf life and UV light protection.

Trivium was also honored for its Ocean 52’s No Plastic Water bottle design. The beverage brand Ocean 52 donates 52% of its profits to ocean protection and has now adopted Trivium’s aluminum bottles to enhance its business module.

Jenny Wassenaar, chief sustainability officer of Trivium, said, “It’s an honor to be recognized by the PAC Global Awards for our work with sustainable packaging. Our refillable aluminum bottle was specifically designed to fit with Boticario’s original packaging for Arbo, providing them with a product that is both visually cohesive, functionally matched, and environmentally friendly.

“Likewise, our aluminum beverage bottle was designed to provide beverage brands with an alternative to plastic while maintaining the convenience and portability their consumers desire, being visually appealing and fully recyclable. With our thoughtfully designed products, we aim to inspire the industry to work towards more sustainable packaging designs.”
