Toppan Digital brings smart packaging solutions to AIPIA World Congress

-

Toppan Digital, a Toppan Group company and wholly owned subsidiary of Toppan Holdings, will participate in the AIPIA World Congress, the global forum covering the entire spectrum of active and intelligent packaging, which will be held on 14 and 15 November in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The AIPIA World Congress is an annual event organized by the Active and Intelligent Packaging Industry Association (AIPIA), in conjunction with its partners Packaging Europe. As an international forum for comprehensive discussion and information sharing on the latest technologies and industry trends in the smart packaging sector, it features conference-style presentations by speakers and exhibits by leading companies and other representatives of the industry.

At the AIPIA World Congress in 2019 and 2020, then participating as a division of Toppan Inc, Toppan Digital presented its proposals for smart packaging solutions to the global market by showcasing offerings such as high-security NFC tags and an ID authentication platform. This year, Toppan Digital will display samples of packages and containers with integrated NFC tags, and a representative of the company will speak on the Smart Insights Stage, presenting examples of how to make packaging smart and proposals for how smart packaging can enable brands to generate customer touchpoints, visualize the supply chain, and provide optimal customer experiences.

Main solutions on show
Toppan Digital will showcase its key solutions at the AIPIA World Congress, with a primary focus on consumer engagement services, prevention of grey market diversion, and authenticity verification. Among the featured products is CorkTag, designed to identify fraudulent opening or refilling of wine bottles. Additionally, the Cachet-Tag enhances security by rendering data unreadable upon tag removal.

The exhibition will also spotlight folding cartons embedded with NFC tags, offering direct-to-consumer (D2C) solutions. When consumers scan an NFC tag, they are seamlessly directed to the respective brand’s website, enhancing engagement and connectivity.

Toppan Digital will conduct live demonstrations of an ID authentication platform, illustrating the assignment of unique IDs to individual products. This approach facilitates comprehensive management and tracking of each product’s status. By scanning tags, users can access information such as the location and time of the scan, aiding in the detection of grey market diversion, individual item management, improved marketing strategies, and brand protection.

Addressing the growing demand for eco-friendly alternatives, Toppan Digital introduces new products, including environmentally conscious tags with paper substrates. These tags, replacing traditional plastic with paper, maintain communication performance while aligning with sustainability objectives.

Furthermore, Toppan Digital unveils an innovative NFC tag designed for contactless detection of liquid volume inside containers. This technology not only enables consumers to monitor product usage but also provides brands with valuable data on usage patterns. By tailoring marketing strategies based on this information, brands can optimize their approach to product promotion and customer engagement.
