At Printpack India 2025, TechNova Imaging Systems showcased its ‘total solutions’ portfolio, featuring offset, digital and flexo technologies for packaging, publishing and commercial printing. Amit Khurana, CEO, TechNova Imaging Systems, said, “Printpack has always been a key platform for us to connect with the industry and showcase our vision. This year, our theme revolves around sustainability – Print Smart, Print Green,” he said.

Khurana detailed TechNova’s focus on strengthening conventional printing with sustainable, future-ready products. “We have launched a new range of green printing plates, including Kratos processless plates. In chemicals, we have introduced an eco-friendly range, further underlining our commitment to sustainability,” he explained.

On the digital front, TechNova’s participation included a broad spectrum of offerings. “We are addressing publishing needs with solutions like the HP PageWide, which is the Ferrari of publishing machines. Additionally, our mid-range Founder digital inkjet press and Kyocera digital inkjet press cater to diverse customer requirements,” Khurana sad. For commercial printing, the company showcased Konica Minolta production presses, while packaging solutions featured the HP Indigo for labels and folding cartons, flexographic plates, and chemicals.

Adapting to evolving market trends

Acknowledging the rapid shift toward digital printing, Khurana observed, “While digital accounts for less than 5% of the overall print space, its prominence is growing due to changing brand and publisher demands. TechNova isn’t just selling products; we are crafting end-to-end solutions tailored to customer business models.”

Adding to this, Shreerang Joshi, COO, channel sales, TechNova Imaging Systems, highlighted TechNova’s strategic focus on the packaging segment. “We have established a dedicated packaging vertical to better serve this expanding market. From offset and flexo to digital packaging solutions, we are offering an ecosystem that meets diverse needs. Our partnership with HP Indigo, for instance, enables us to provide cutting-edge digital solutions for labels and folding cartons,” he shared.

Embellishment – the growing trend

Discussing emerging trends, Joshi emphasized the increasing demand for embellishments in printing. “We have partnered with Duplo, a Japanese leader in print finishing, to provide top-tier solutions. Since many print businesses rely on a single finishing device, it’s critical for this equipment to be best-in-class,” he explained.

India’s packaging boom

Khurana shared an optimistic outlook for India’s packaging industry, attributing its growth to rising middle-class incomes, urbanization, and a favorable global economic environment. “India is becoming a manufacturing hub, attracting significant private equity investments and global packaging companies. This growth is reflected in the installation of 70 high-end offset packaging presses in the last year – a milestone for the industry,” he remarked.

Industry challenges

When asked about challenges, Joshi pointed out safety concerns and energy conservation as critical issues. “Printing facilities, with their paper stocks, are prone to fire hazards. We have launched training programs on safety and energy audits to support the industry. While these aren’t direct revenue generators, they add immense value and strengthen relationships with our customers,” he said.

Wrapping up the discussion, Joshi conveyed a reassuring message for the industry: “While print is evolving, it’s far from disappearing. Whether you’re an entrepreneur or an employee, it’s crucial to align with these changes and embrace innovation. Print has a long future ahead, and we must all be part of its journey.”
