Swiss Pac diversifies to flexo with Flexcel NX System and Shine LED Lamp Kits

-

Leading Indian flexible packaging company, Swiss Pac, has invested in a Flexcel NX Wide 4260 System from Miraclon, diversifying to flexographic printing. Paired with Shine LED Lamp Kits, innovated by Miraclon, this combination of a new flexo press and LED exposure will allow Swiss Pac to achieve optimum results and significant sustainability gains.

Swiss Pac excels in managing both gravure and digital printing tasks. However, with the added flexibility offered by Flexcel solutions, it can now strategically determine the most suitable operation – whether gravure, digital, or flexo – for each job, resulting in achieving its goal of visual parity on shelf without compromise.

Typically, multiple changeovers with spot colors can disrupt production. However, by implementing Expanded Color Gamut (ECG) with Flexcel solutions, Swiss Pac can now perform quick changeovers with minimal interruption. This is made possible through standardized press parameters and a clear objective to print by numbers. The high solid ink densities and wide tonal range covering all 256 grey levels that Flexcel NX offers are crucial for realizing the full potential of ECG.

In addition to the Flexcel NX Wide 4260 System, Swiss Pac’s investment in Shine LED Lamp Kits, innovated by Miraclon, will assist in faster plate exposure, and reducing bottlenecks while eliminating plate remakes. This results in better exposure consistency and uniformity, further reducing waste on press and contributing to sustainability gains.

With all of these advancements, Swiss Pac, in partnership with Miraclon, can experience the benefits of modern flexo including increased uptime, less troubleshooting, reduced waste and more efficient job scheduling. Swiss Pac is now positioned to commercialize more sustainable offerings with a productive and simplified production process gaining the ability to transition work traditionally printed with other print processes to a more flexible approach.
