At PlastFocus 2024, SP Ultraflex presented its latest advancements in web inspection and doctoring rewinding machines (WIR and DRM). Barisha Datta, sales coordinator at SP Ultraflex, said, “These machines are a testament to Indian manufacturing prowess. They embody upgraded versions of our existing models and come with new features specifically designed for delicate substrates like plastic films, flexible packaging laminates, paper, and aluminum foil-based laminates.”

According to Tejal More, junior automation engineer at SP Ultraflex, the new web inspection rewinder surpasses its predecessor by integrating the Futec system, an automatic defect detection system, in contrast to the manual defect system of the stroboscope found in the standard inspection rewinder.

The doctoring machine and the web inspection rewinder have impressive speeds of up to 600 meters per minute. The recent addition of the DRM VER-N expands SP Ultraflex’s range of slitting and rewinding machines, which now comprises 14 models catering to various production needs.

Speaking of the DRM VER-N, Datta said, “Its ability to efficiently handle thin materials is truly remarkable, especially considering the challenges faced by larger machines in the market. The enhanced speed and performance of the DRM VER-N position it as a promising solution for the evolving demands of the industry. At PlastFocus, we are showcasing the VER-N version of the DRM, which indicates its vertical orientation.”

More elaborated on the features of the DRM REV doctoring rewinding machine, highlighting its robust design and versatile functionality. The machine’s ability to run in both directions and salvage unsatisfactorily wound slit coils highlights its value in optimizing production processes and minimizing material wastage.

Reflecting on the experience at PlastFocus, More expressed satisfaction with the positive response received from visitors. “SP Ultraflex’s robust presence in both domestic and international markets highlights its reputation for delivering innovative solutions and reliable performance,” she said.
