Sovereign Labelling’s bottle labelling solution at PPMA Total Show 2025

-

UK-based labelling and sleeving specialist Sovereign Labelling Machines is demonstrating an end-to-end production line for bottles on Stand G10 at the PPMA Total Show 2025. Presented as a turnkey solution on the company’s stand, this line showcases a comprehensive array of integrated technologies for efficient and effective labelling.

Containers travel from a rotary table onto a conveyor and move into a Sovereign Monarch tri-roller/top labeller. Before the labels are applied, a thermal transfer printer prints best-before dates onto the labels. Once the labels have been successfully applied by the Sovereign Monarch labeller, a vision sensor looks for any missing labels and directs defective products to a reject chute.

A Sovereign Jubilee tamper evident sleever and portable heat tunnel then apply and form shrink sleeves to the neck and lid of the bottle, securing the lid in place and providing enhanced product security.

Fully labelled and secured containers then travel down a second conveyor and return to a further rotary table for collection, ready for packing and shipping.

Sovereign Labelling Machines managing director Thomas Glendinning said, “By linking all of the steps together and presenting them as a turnkey solution, we are demonstrating the full breadth of our capabilities as the leading supplier of labelling and sleeving equipment.”

The Sovereign Monarch tri-roller/top labeller can handle a variety of products. Bespoke systems can be designed to cater for any product specification and dimension. The system can process more than 60 products a minute (when seam registration is not required). Precision-engineered conveyors and servo-driven mechanisms position, secure, and rotate the product to ensure accurate and consistently precise label application at high speeds.

The Sovereign Jubilee tamper evident sleever applies a heat shrink sleeve to the lid and neck of the product, for security and product protection as the sleeve must be removed to open the container. A compact design and servo-driven material feed allow products of different dimensions to be processed at high speed. Heat tunnels are supplied and are suitable to the application to ensure optimum shrinkage of the tamper sleeve.

Glendinning said, “We understand that brands and co-packers alike are under increasing pressure from retailers for efficient labelling that is of the highest quality. Consumers similarly expect labels to be perfectly positioned and securely applied. The system we are demonstrating on Stand G10 at PPMA Total Show 2025 meets all of these requirements and more. By integrating anti-theft and product security capabilities, we show brands and co-packers how they can take their labelling to the next level.”

At PPMA Total Show 2025, Sovereign is also showing an industry-leading desktop labeller designed to the highest standards and suitable for a wide range of round containers.

This system offers a low total cost of ownership (TCO) and has been designed for versatility. This makes it suitable for all types and size of business, regardless of their labelling and sleeving requirements.

PPMA Total Show 2025 takes place 23-25 September 2025 at the NEC in Birmingham.
