Siegwerk, one of the leading global suppliers of printing inks for packaging applications and labels, has announced that Vinay Bhardwaj has been appointed as a board member of the All India Printing Ink Manufacturer’s Association (AIPIMA), an apex body for printing inks in India, with immediate effect. This was announced as a unanimous decision, during the 9th Executive Committee meeting held on 13th July which was presided over by DN Patil, president, AIPIMA and attended by all the EC members.

Vinay Bhardwaj is an industry veteran having more than 25 years of rich experience in the packaging industry. He is the vice president, flexible packaging and tobacco at Siegwerk India, driving the flexible packaging division of the company since his joining Siegwerk India over a year ago.

Ashish Pradhan, president, Siegwerk India and Greater China, said, “It is indeed a pleasure for us that Vinay Bhardwaj will be playing an important role at AIPIMA as an industry representative. I am confident that with his vast experience and commitment, Vinay will spearhead the importance of safe and sustainable packaging. Siegwerk is committed to guide and support the industry in India especially the MSME sector during transition to toluene-free inks for food packaging.”

While thanking the executive committee of AIPIMA for electing him for the Board, Bhardwaj, said, “I am glad that I have opportunity to be part of AIPIMA and address some key issues and challenges that the industry is facing. I am sure our industry will see a dramatic change in the coming years. The pandemic has affected every one of us and brought in many difficulties, however, I believe this is the right time to explore new opportunities to transform the industry. I will bat for the sustainable packaging solutions and help drive the safety and health agenda.”
