Segezha Packaging moves forward with major expansion project – including W&H machinery

Paper sack specialist, Segezha Packaging, has announced a major investment project to significantly increase manufacturing operations and capacity in Romania. This will include a new production facility and warehouse, modernization of existing machinery, and the latest state-of-the-art production line from Windmöller & Hölscher.

The 2,880 square meter facility is expected to be complete in October 2021 and will result in a 65% increase in production capacity. With the goal of expanding its product portfolio with high-end segments, including industrial packaging for food ingredients, the new building will meet the highest quality and hygiene requirements.

The new state-of-the-art production line from Windmöller & Hölscher is scheduled for delivery by the end of this calendar year. Following necessary testing and employee training, production is expected to commence in March 2022.

The modernization of the existing equipment will also include the relocation of production machinery from another Segezha Packaging location. In addition to higher efficiency, this will positively affect the production output starting 2022.
