Segezha Packaging moves forward with major expansion project – including W&H machinery

-

Paper sack specialist, Segezha Packaging, has announced a major investment project to significantly increase manufacturing operations and capacity in Romania. This will include a new production facility and warehouse, modernization of existing machinery, and the latest state-of-the-art production line from Windmöller & Hölscher.

The 2,880 square meter facility is expected to be complete in October 2021 and will result in a 65% increase in production capacity. With the goal of expanding its product portfolio with high-end segments, including industrial packaging for food ingredients, the new building will meet the highest quality and hygiene requirements.

The new state-of-the-art production line from Windmöller & Hölscher is scheduled for delivery by the end of this calendar year. Following necessary testing and employee training, production is expected to commence in March 2022.

The modernization of the existing equipment will also include the relocation of production machinery from another Segezha Packaging location. In addition to higher efficiency, this will positively affect the production output starting 2022.

Reflecting on the recently announced expansion in Romania, Segezha Packaging CEO Rinat Stark said, “Our production plant in Romania is a leading producer on the local market and has been supplying our products for many years now. This investment project to increase our industrial footprint in the country is an exciting milestone in our history. We are truly excited to continue overcoming the expectations of our customers through high-quality products, short lead time and impeccable service, as well as contributing to the local community.”
