ECO CRO Sleeves GF

Rotometal recently launched its ECO CRO Sleeves GF. The company’s traditional composite sleeves are produced with a PET honeycomb volumetric layer and an epoxy resin in their construction. However, its newly launched ECO CRO Sleeves GF change that. “Rotometal’s ECO CRO Sleeves GF are created after internal research and discussion with suppliers,” said Bhupesh Tilwani, regional sales manager, India.

The honeycomb volumetric layer is produced with 100% rPET (recycled PET). This retains the same great weight and strength properties whilst massively reducing the environmental impact of the tool, shared Tilwani.

“We didn’t stop there though. We also were able to find a high-performance green-epoxy resin featuring 28% of its molecular structure deriving from plant origin. This replaces the standard epoxy resin from Rotometal’s CRO Sleeves, without sacrificing any of the fantastic properties in terms of longevity and print quality. They’re a product that has leading print performance and accuracy, retains their strength and reliability, and yet are significantly more sustainable,” said Tilwani.

How to be more eco-friendly with your print tooling

“We are living in a time when the world is more aware of the environment than ever before. We have seen a huge surge in products that are made with recycled materials, and we have heard about how our lifestyles can be less harmful to the planet. But even if you have made small changes at home like switching to reusable grocery bags or recycling your plastic bottles, what about at work?

“Almost every business on the planet today is aware of the importance of reducing their environmental impact. And at Rotometal they have seen that the industry has been slow to make those changes. That’s why Rotometal started to look at what innovation we could implement and create to help our customers improve their environmental impact,” said Tilwani.

Choose a supplier who is as committed as you are to improving things

“When we are choosing a supplier, we will look for one who is committed to the environment. This means they should be working towards finding eco-friendly solutions that still meet our needs in terms of value, quality and speed. They should also be committed to their customers and employees.

“This is a core aspect of Rotometal’s approach to the future and our focus on Customer 5.0. It’s certainly the way Rotometal works with its customers and suppliers. Rotometal believes that if they can help them to improve their environmental impact and reduce their costs, then we are all better off,” said Tilwani.

Innovation that helps

“Rotometal has worked within its own technical departments and in partnership with suppliers to develop new production techniques. These allow us to bring game-changing innovations to market and create some unique options for customers. We analyzed our product range to see where there could be options to create a true eco-alternative,” concluded Tilwani.
