Prakash Packagers, a reputed name in the Indian printing industry and a recipient of a National Award for excellence, has earned recognition for its quality work and reliable products. Based in Lucknow, the company operates with a dedicated team and advanced equipment, including Komori presses that play a key role in its production.

A brief account of how Prakash Packagers began its journey 52 years ago would be incomplete without mentioning its true founder. Shri Prakash Narayan Bhargava, after whom the company is named, established Prakash Packagers in 1973. He holds the distinction of being the first Polygraphy Engineer (Germany) in Uttar Pradesh and has been honoured with the title ‘UP Ratna’ for his significant contribution to the growth and development of the industry in the state.

Over the decades, family-owned Prakash Packagers has steadily grown with each new generation joining the business. Reflecting on this journey, Amit Bhargava, director of Prakash Packagers, says, “I take pride in being the second generation to carry forward the legacy of Prakash Packagers, which is now positioned as one of the well-equipped offset printing and packaging converting companies in Uttar Pradesh, supported by a multi-generational workforce.”

Spread across 30,000 sq ft, Prakash Packagers operates a modern production facility equipped with pre-press, press, and post-press machinery from leading brands, including Komori. “We have long appreciated Komori technology. At present, we operate three Komori presses, the latest being a Lithrone G40 Advance, which has just been installed,” says Bhargava.

The first Komori press at Prakash Packagers, a Lithrone GL437, was installed in 2022, followed by a Super Lithrone LS-440 in 2023. This year, the company added a versatile Lithrone G40 Advance as its third Komori press. “With this addition, we are enhancing our productivity in commercial graphics and products such as books,” says Bhargava, noting that the new press comes with advanced features that support efficient operations.

The Lithrone G40 Advance is designed to deliver high productivity and support sustainable printing practices. Suitable for a wide range of commercial and packaging jobs, it can operate at speeds of up to 17,200 sheets per hour and handle sheet sizes up to 750×1050 mm. The press also incorporates features aimed at reducing power consumption, paper waste, and greenhouse gas emissions.

Along with its three Komori presses, Prakash Packagers’ facility houses Heidelberg machines, a Konica Minolta digital production press, an HP DesignJet PS printer, pre-press systems from Kodak, and post-press binding equipment from Welbound, Electromec, and others. “Marking quality as hallmark of our tradition, we keep upgrading our machine portfolio at times to maintain efficiency and excellence in our print outputs and end-products,” says Bhargava.

With a vision of perfection, Prakash Packagers meets every customer’s commercial printing needs, including posters, calendars, leaflets, magazines, books, business cards, folders, large-format graphics, and more. According to Bhargava, the company manages everything in-house for each end-product – from studio designing, composing, and proofreading to printing, packaging, and distribution.

Prakash Packagers’ achievements and legacy are reflected in the awards and accolades it has received over the years, recognizing its outstanding work, services, and end-products in 1996, 2005, 2010, 2013, 2015, 2020, and 2023. Among these are the National Award for Excellence in Printing, the Excellence in Printing award by South Asia Print Congress, a Gold Medal from Transworld Trade Fair, and the North India Award for Print Excellence.

Bhargava conveys that their success today stems from reliably providing customers with exactly what they need, in a cost-effective and timely manner.
