The 11th edition of the international plastics exhibition Plastindia 2023 has been a grand success. According to the organizer of the event, the 5-day exhibition, from 1 to 5 February 2023, witnessed a high footfall of 3.60 lakh visitors. One of the most comprehensive exhibitions for the plastics industry, around 1800 exhibitors showcased their latest world-standard processing machinery, raw materials, recycling technology, and latest automation technologies at the event. Many exhibitors reportedly were successful in booking high-value orders over the 5 days.

Meanwhile, a high-powered CEO Conclave was organized at the venue of the exhibition. Over 90 industry leaders and CEOs attended the conclave and deliberated on how the Indian plastics industry can reach its full potential. It was agreed that the industry and the policymakers will walk hand in hand so that the policies can be encouraging to the industry instead of being a deterrent. The policymakers would be ready for iterations if there were edits to be made along the way to provide an apt environment for the Indian plastics industry to become the global sourcing hub.

Additionally, during the exhibition, RBSM meetings were also organized in association with PLEXCONCIL, attended by over 300 plus buyers from various countries to source their requirements from India. The RBSM successfully brought potential overseas buyers of plastic products/machinery and mold to India.

The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Government of India.

Speaking on the success of the exhibition, Jigish Doshi, president – Plastindia Foundation, said, “I am delighted to say that the largest edition of Plastindia to date – Plastindia 2023 has been a grand success. Since this was a business-only exhibition with the entire range of offerings from industry, right from raw materials, to machinery, to finished goods showcased under one roof, both the exhibitors and the visitors found it very beneficial. The world is now looking at India and I am confident that with the right policy support, we will soon emerge as the global sourcing hub for plastics.”

Ajay Shah – chairman, national executive council, Plastindia 2023, said, “The outcome of Plastindia 2023 has been very promising. The innovations and the technologies showcased will set the roadmap for the future. Plastindia 2023 also brought together the industry’s brightest minds who used the opportunity to network, explore and learn more about the industry. It also introduced and familiarized various businesses with state governments and city councils.”

Launched in 1990, the Plastindia series of exhibitions under the aegis of the Plastindia Foundation is closely followed in the industry and retains a permanent date in the corporate calendars globally. The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Government of India.
