Plast 2026 draws 35,000 visitors in 20th edition at Fiera Milano

Plast 2026, the 20th edition of the international exhibition for the plastics and rubber industry, concluded on 12 June 2026 at Fiera Milano, Rho, drawing 35,000 attendees and more than 1,000 exhibiting companies over four days. Foreign visitors accounted for 25% of attendance, representing 110 countries, while 44% of exhibitors were international. The event spanned 40,000 square meters of exhibition space.

The edition featured several satellite shows and thematic areas alongside the main floor. RUBBER, organized in collaboration with Assogomma, served as the meeting point for the elastomer industry. 3D Plast Lab, developed with Indexlab – Politecnico di Milano, focused on additive manufacturing. Plast Mat showcased polymeric materials. Around 20 Italian startups also presented solutions at the fair.

Among international visitors, the organizers noted the participation of over 350 selected foreign delegates, facilitated through an incoming project developed in collaboration with ICE Agency. Of the approximately 9,000 international operators who attended, the delegates were cited as reflecting the fair’s commercial reach.

Mario Maggiani, managing director of Promaplast, said, “We do not hide that our forecasts on the eve were marked by the utmost prudence. We feared far heavier repercussions of the global geopolitical situation on Plast, which instead confirmed itself as a European point of reference for the plastics and rubber industry, restoring confidence to many of the exhibitors we met. The reality is that today the exhibition world, more than other sectors, is suffering the backlash of a diversification in ways of doing business, especially in the B2B field; this is why we are diversifying the format of Plast, not only through the addition of satellite shows but also by providing a conference program capable of covering all facets of the supply chain and responding to the updating needs of a rapidly evolving sector.”

Alessio Fineo, head of the exhibition department at Promaplast, said, “From the opinions gathered at the fair, many have noted the quality of the visitors and the delegations of foreign companies that showed interest in the products on display. The efforts of the entire team to promote Plast generated results that went beyond expectations.”

The event also hosted a program of seminars and institutional conferences, several of which were reported to be at full capacity. Participating organizations included Corepla, IPPR Plastica Seconda Vita, PlasticsEurope Italia-Federchimica, Unionplast, The European House Ambrosetti, TMP, Assorimap, Assogomma, Ipack-Ima, Largo Consumo, PVC Forum/VinylPlus Italia, and Made Competence Center I4.0.

The next edition of Plast is scheduled for 2029 at Fiera Milano, Rho. Dates are to be confirmed.
