Parksons’ fifth state-of-the-art packaging plant comes up in Sri City

Parksons Packaging, a leading manufacturer and exporter of printed and laminated folding cartons, on 24 February 2017, inaugurated a new folding carton plant in Sri City in Chittoor district. The sprawling 10-acre plant is now the company’s fifth plant in India. Ramesh Kejriwal, the company’s chairman along with Jean Pacal Bobst, CEO, Bobst Group, Stephen Plenz, head, equipment division of Heidelberg group, inaugurated the plant.

Ramesh Kejriwal said that their strategy was to continuously expand their geographical reach and maintained that Sri City plant inauguration makes Parksons a confluence of West, North and South, as they have units in these regions of the country. “This investment is in line with our goal of being a pan India packaging company. This will help us in achieving several of our 2017 plans out of several others, which is to convert 100,000 MT installed capacity in a space of 7,00,000 sq/ft,” said Kejriwal, chairman of Parksons Packaging. “Parksons Packaging being one of the leading packaging solutions providers in the country, focusing on constantly driving innovation, it is preferred across the industries in different sectors.”

The Sri City plant is powered by the high-configured Heidelberg CX-102 7-color press with coater. With this Parksons became country’s first to install a press of this configuration. Another CX-102 press from Heidelberg will be installed in the Sri City plant soon. The new plant is also powered by two diecutters and folder-gluers from Bobst. In addition, the new plant is equipped with a laminator and UV varnish machine from Wen Chyuan (supplied by TGS India), laminator from Meiguang and a two-ply corrugator line from Champion.
