Mespack launches HKE Series horizontal packaging platform

-

Mespack, a manufacturer of flexible and turnkey packaging solutions, has launched the HKE Series – a horizontal platform designed for high-speed pouch packaging in both roll-stock and pre-made configurations. The machine will be showcased at interpack 2026 in Düsseldorf (Hall 6, Stand B73).

At the core of the HKE Series is an electronically controlled, vertically positioned carrousel system, which the company says is engineered to grip and maintain control of each pouch throughout the entire production cycle. According to Mespack, this architecture enables higher speeds while preserving accuracy, seal quality, and product integrity.

Continuous production and speed

The HKE Series is designed for uninterrupted roll-stock production. Its vertical electronic carrousel operates with asynchronous motion and, the company states, delivers consistent pouch positioning across duplex, triplex, and quadruplex configurations. Depending on machine setup, the platform is said to achieve up to 225 pouches per minute (ppm) in pre-made (HKE SC) configurations and up to 240 ppm in roll-stock. Integrated electrical cabinets and an optimized station layout contribute to a reduced machine footprint.

Changeovers and format flexibility

The HKE Series is said to support fast, repeatable changeovers via automated adjustments through the HMI and Mespack’s Athena software platform. Parameters, including pouch width, transport settings, and shrink and stretch adjustments, can be modified with minimal operator input. Pre-made (HKE SC) configurations achieve changeovers in as little as five minutes, while roll-stock configurations enable format changes in approximately 20 minutes, according to the company.

Modularity and format range

Available in roll-stock, pre-made pouch (HKE SC), or combined configurations, the HKE Series is designed to accommodate a range of pouch formats and product types, including powders, granules, liquids, solids, and pods. The platform supports recyclable-ready materials, hygienic design, and washdown options. It is also compatible with smart process-control options such as Smart Digital Sealing and Inline Thermographic Inspection systems for real-time seal quality monitoring, the company said.

Digital connectivity

Built around Mespack’s Athena digital ecosystem, the HKE Series includes recipe management, data monitoring, remote assistance, and preventive maintenance capabilities.

Guillem Lloret, innovation director at Mespack, said, “The key innovation behind the HKE Series is the electronic vertical carrousel that operates with asynchronous motion. By decoupling transport, filling, and sealing movements, we can independently optimize each station instead of forcing the entire machine to run at the same rhythm. This synchronization allows us to combine higher speed with exceptional pouch stability, even in continuous roll-stock production.”
