VeePee Graphics, an Indian flexographic prepress and platemaking specialist, has invested in the Esko CDI Quartz at its Bangalore facility to improve flexographic print quality and production consistency for its customers. The investment was disclosed on 29 October, the first day of LOUPE India 2026, at the Esko stand (E8a) at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida.
VeePee Graphics adopted Esko prepress software in 2002 and the company’s digital flexo platemaking technology in 2006. The CDI Quartz, described as a top-tier flexo platemaking system, is the next step in that relationship.
“VeePee Graphics has consistently demonstrated a commitment to investing in advanced technology to deliver greater value to its customers,” said Karan Talwar, director sales, South Asia at Esko. “The CDI Quartz builds on that commitment, enabling VeePee to achieve exceptional plate quality, improved consistency and enhanced control across demanding flexographic applications. With its advanced imaging and Quartz Screening technology, it helps bring flexographic print quality closer to gravure while supporting efficient, repeatable production.”
The CDI Quartz uses optical imaging at 4,000 ppi, combined with 2,000 lpi Q-Cells that are said to enhance ink transfer. According to the company, this enables smoother ink coverage, stronger density, sharper detail, cleaner highlights and deeper shadows, helping prepress specialists produce plates for a wide range of applications.
The Esko Quartz ecosystem is compatible with both solvent-based and water-based inks, and is said to help improve ink efficiency and support more sustainable production. By combining imaging with screening, the technology is intended to simplify platemaking and deliver repeatable results.
Jai Chandra Peethambaram, managing director at VeePee Graphics, said: “LAMS technology has consistently delivered excellent graphic reproduction. However, achieving clean, uniform solids at higher ink densities has remained a challenge.
“With Esko Quartz, we are taking a significant step forward. By addressing this limitation, Quartz opens up new possibilities for combining outstanding graphics with cleaner, more uniform solids, higher ink density, and consistent print quality. The result is the best of both worlds – exceptional graphics and excellent solids, delivered with greater consistency.”
The investment comes as packaging and label customers seek higher print quality, greater consistency and more efficient production. Esko Quartz technology has also received industry awards.
