Leuze introduces DCR 100i high-speed code reader

-

Leuze has introduced a new high-speed code reader designed for industrial traceability and identification applications. The DCR 100i series is a compact code reader capable of capturing both 1D and 2D bar codes, as well as directly marked (DPM) codes, in demanding production and packaging environments.

The DCR 100i series is equipped with a 1.3-megapixel CMOS imager and decoding algorithms designed to support reliable code reading at high process speeds. The device can capture images at up to 120 frames per second, enabling accurate reading of codes on moving objects such as packages on conveyor belts operating at speeds of up to 2 meters per second. The readers also support the detection of multiple codes within a single field of view, making them suitable for complex traceability tasks.

One of the features of the DCR 100i series is a manually adjustable focus, which allows the reader to be adapted for different working distances and code sizes without hardware changes. The series offers four selectable focus ranges, covering short to long reading distances, to support a variety of industrial applications.

The code readers are designed for straightforward setup and integration. They include integrated trigger and teach functions that allow configuration of exposure, illumination and decoding directly on the device, without the need for a PC. Communication interfaces include Ethernet with TCP/IP and Modbus support, as well as RS232, enabling integration into industrial automation systems.

Designed for use in industrial environments, the DCR 100i series features a compact and robust aluminum housing with a protection class suitable for production settings. The code readers are intended to support fast and accurate code reading in manufacturing and packaging lines where traceability and quality control are required.
