Hunter Luxury wins top award at UK Packaging Awards

-

Hunter Luxury’s work on the Hendrick’s gin Whimsical Watering Can – in collaboration with brand owner William Grant & Sons and Boundless Brand Design – won the coveted Limited Edition Pack of the Year prize and was highly commended in the Best International Pack category. Meanwhile, Hunter Luxury’s collaboration with whisky specialist Chivas Brothers and design agency JDO Global for The Glenlivet brand on a stunning anodised aluminum display case finished with brushed copper for its 40-year-old expression was also Highly Commended in the Luxury Pack of the Year category.

In a competitive field, the creative flair and technical expertise required to produce the Whimsical Watering Can wowed the judging panel enough to secure the award. An exclusive travel retail set, the pack captured imaginations and pushed boundaries by utilising an ornate, all-metal, fully functional watering can as secondary packaging. The watering can works as both a quirky cocktail decanter, novel display piece, or as an actual watering can that consumers can use to grow their own botanicals.

The win is the latest in a string of successes for the project, after it picked up prizes at the Pentawards, the International Spirits Challenge Awards, and the Frontier Awards earlier this year.

Paul Hamilton, head of sales and marketing at Hunter Luxury, was delighted with his team’s latest awards recognition, saying, “I’m so proud of the creative talents of our team and our partners at Boundless. To develop this outlandish vision and refine it into an impactful, market-ready packaging solution is a remarkable achievement from everyone involved. I want to thank the team at Boundless for their collaboration and their trust in our ability to bring their creative vision to life.

“I also want to highlight how rewarding it is to win this award in such a competitive category. The standard was superb across the board, and I’m proud to be part of such a thriving luxury packaging industry that is constantly raising the bar.”

The other pack to take the spotlight, The Glenlivet 40, is an iconic cylindrical presentation crafted from copper-coloured anodised aluminum – a material chosen for its elegance, durability, and infinite recyclability. At its heart, a precision-engineered twist-and-open lid delivers a distinctive haptic opening experience, elevating the sense of ownership. Teal metal accents, echoing the band on the bottle, combine with intricate engraving and a patina-finished commemorative coin to honour the legacy and prestige of The Glenlivet while reimagining luxury for a new generation.

Hunter Luxury’s award win was one of the highlights of the historic 20th annual UK Packaging Awards ceremony, held at the iconic Hilton Park Lane in the West End of London. The show was hosted by TV personality and comedian Paul Sinha.
