At Printpack India 2022, H.B. Fuller showcased several innovations that address growing trends in sustainable consumer goods and eCommerce packaging. However, the major highlight was the sustainable Sesame tear tapes. The company claims, the sustainable tape is made of 80% bio-based material and is sourced and certified by The Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). The technology recently won the European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO) award for sustainability.

The company showcased innovative solutions for eCommerce packaging through a complete line of pressure-sensitive adhesives under the Swiftmelt brand that enables the bonding of tough substrates for a variety of applications, including pressure-sensitive tapes or labels, containers labeling, and courier bag applications.

H.B. Fuller also showcased its new food-safe solution, sold under the Swifttak brand which addresses the increasing demand for paper straws for a variety of end-use applications in the food service, institutional, and residential industries, which are projected to spur this market upwards, globally. The company believes increased consumer demand for low-impact straws, upcoming government reform, and the many campaigns to ban single-use plastic are expected to contribute to the expansion of paper straws in everyday life.

The company also introduced its metallocene range of solutions for bookbinding applications. H.B. Fuller claims that its metallocene-based hot melt adhesives offer several advantages in the production process and end-use applications, such as lower coat weight, increased adhesion strength, and robust temperature resistance. This improved adhesion also contributes to prolonging the product’s life and ensuring durability. Another example of this technology is that it enables the recyclability of books and reduces adhesive consumption, which are important factors for the graphic arts industry.
