At Labelexpo India 2024, Fujifilm’s presence was marked by its comprehensive offerings for the narrow web printing segment. Rajesh Gandhi, vice president – Fujifilm Sericol India – Fujifilm Ink Solutions Group, emphasized the importance of events like Labelexpo in fostering industry connections and presenting their portfolio to a diverse audience. “Apart from showcasing our products, we aim to communicate Fujifilm’s global vision – ‘Bringing More Smiles,’ which combines innovation with customer satisfaction,” he said.

Focus on white inks and custom solutions

Fujifilm highlighted its globally acclaimed white inks, along with a new range of LED inks. Gandhi noted the company’s shift toward providing solutions tailored to customer needs. “We don’t just promote products; we take on projects where customers share their specific requirements, and we develop solutions for them,” he explained.

Sustainability – the key to future growth

Addressing evolving market trends, Gandhi identified sustainability as the driving force for the industry. He highlighted the growing adoption of water-based inks and energy-efficient technologies such as LED curing systems. “Sustainability is not optional anymore; it’s the future. Products and technologies that reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption will define the market,” he said.

Challenges in a competitive landscape

Gandhi pointed out several challenges, including rising input costs and unhealthy competition, which force companies to lower prices despite increasing operational expenses. “This is a major hurdle for all of us in the industry,” he added.

Observations from Labelexpo India 2024

Reflecting on the event itself, Gandhi noted significant changes compared to previous editions. “The exhibition has shrunk, with smaller stalls and reduced participation from major players. This could be due to increased costs from organizers,” he remarked.
