iTek Packz continued their winning streak and were presented their fifth Gold Award by the prestigious Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) at their annual Excellence in Flexography Awards.

Their Gold Award was presented for their flexography, narrow web, ‘Teesta Premium Tea Pack’. They also received a Silver Award for their ‘High Range Teesta Tea Pack’.

iTek Packz, based in Bengaluru, India was formed in 2013 and is one of the leading print suppliers of self-adhesive labels and converters of printed cartons. The company was founded by the second generation of Wintek Flexo Prints owners Shahul Hameed, Gururaj Ballarwad and Late PC Anand. Gassali Shahul Hameed and Tippu Hameed, Girish and Gopi Ballarwad, and Vinay Anand Pavuluri established iTek Packz to accommodate the folding carton business of Wintek Flexo Prints after ITW Signode acquired the flexo division.

They are a long-standing customer of Edale and have invested in an FL3 label press, an FL5 carton production line, and an inline flat-bed die cutter. Their Gold Award-winning entry received high praise from the judges who said, “Registration worth talking about! Really tight and really well done.”

The judges commented on their Silver Award entry, “The tolerances were tight, and the registration was great on this print sample.”

iTek Packz said, “Our team is immensely proud of what we have achieved. Our aim has always been to provide our customers with the best quality carton products possible. We have now received 5 Gold Awards and voted ‘Best in Show’, 3 Silver Awards, a Bronze Award, and an FTA Europe, Diamond Award. Our sincere thanks go to the FTA for the opportunity to enter this very prestigious competition. Also, our gratitude to the judges for their appreciation and praise of our Teesta Tea Carton Products.”

Darren Pickford, sales director, Edale, said, “We are delighted that iTek Packz continues to receive the well-deserved recognition for their achievements in flexographic printing. These awards give industry recognition that flexographic printing directly competes with offset printing traditionally used in carton production.”

Darren continued, “iTek Packz is a great example of a business that continually evolves and challenges tradition and we are proud to be a partner on that journey. They produce highly embellished sustainable paper-based cartons using their inline carton production capability. They can print, reverse print, foil, laminate, add holographic effects with cast and cure, coat, emboss, die-cut, waste strip, and collate on one machine in a single pass. We are proud that iTek Packz has used their Edale FL5 carton production line and FDC to produce their fantastic award-winning entries.”
