Flexcon celebrated its 70th anniversary on 9 March 2026, commemorating seven decades of pressure-sensitive films, adhesives and functional materials. A family-owned business that began in 1956, Flexcon said it has transformed material science challenges into breakthrough solutions. The company’s earliest innovations in plastic film laminates helped revolutionize product design in consumer markets.

Over the decades, Flexcon expanded its core capabilities by introducing advanced finishing processes, pioneering new adhesive technologies, and developing high-performance labeling and identification materials that have become industry standards. The company has grown its manufacturing footprint, expanded its distribution capabilities, and strengthened its presence across North America, Europe, and Asia.

“As we celebrate 70 proud years, we reflect on and honor the employees and partners who have shaped Flexcon into the global technology leader it is today,” said Flexcon CEO Nick Tucci. “Our history, built upon the foundation established by the McDonough Family, reflects a deep commitment to solving real-world challenges through materials innovation with success for our customers at the heart of all we do. That commitment will continue to guide us for the next 70 years as we build the next generation of high-performance solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers around the world.”

Flexcon said its success has been driven by technical expertise and a commitment to serving emerging market needs. From advanced labeling systems to novel materials, the company has helped shape solutions in the packaging, transportation, industrial, and healthcare markets, most recently introducing the groundbreaking development of a dry biomedical electrode technology. Their drive for innovation has cemented their reputation as a trusted partner to global brands.
