Esko Kongsberg helps Nancy Graphics offer new branding solutions for signage

Mumbai-based Nancy Graphics offers Point of Presence (POP) branding solutions for signage to corporate as well as retail clients. Operating in Mumbai’s printing hub in Lower Parel for over a decade, Nancy Graphics has a comprehensive array of solvent, eco-solvent, and Latex inkjet printers.

The recent addition of an Esko Kongsberg X24 cutting table driven by Esko ArtiosCAD software has helped the company to add signage branding solutions and value for its customers. Bringing the new industrial strength solution for cutting and creasing in-house has resulted in added volumes and improved revenues for Nancy Graphics.

“With margins in the regular signage and branding segment under pressure due to severe competition, we decided to go for the Esko Kongsberg X24 cutting table. This solution helped us in handling the widest range of material from corrugated, duplex and Kappa boards to rigid material like ACP, MDF and acrylic. We now offer a lot of value-added branding solutions for signage to our customers apart from our regular signage and branding products,” said Mr J Christopher, owner of Nancy Graphics.

Intuitive i-cut Production Console 2.0

The Kongsberg X24 sign starter (1680 mm x 3200 mm) is the latest model with the i-cut Production Console 2.0 intuitive icon-based user interface console. The machine is capable of cutting and creasing the widest range of substrates with capabilities like V grooving on Kappa, sun board and ACP. It can also give a diamond polishing texture on acrylics.

The i-cut Production Console 2.0 has greatly reduced the learning curve. A new operator can quickly learn to operate and get the best out of the Kongsberg X24 table. The set-up time is minimal for material changes. The machine tooling can be pre-configured according to the materials available or likely to be used.

For designing packaging structures, more people use Esko ArtiosCAD than any other structural design software in the world. With dedicated tools specifically designed for packaging and signage professionals for product development, virtual prototyping and manufacturing, it increases productivity throughout the production workflow. Ideal for all corrugated, folding carton and POP, POS, and FSDU display designers, it is unrivalled in structural packaging design.

Since the installation of the Kongsberg X24, Nancy Graphics has produced a great variety of prototypes and products including large cartons, puzzles, acrylic table calendars and sunpack bags. For cutting this wide variety of materials, the company used to approach third parties to get the job done, which was very time consuming.

Christopher explains, “With the Kongsberg installed we can handle these materials in-house and the whole process is under our control. We were planning to get a cutting table for some time and had considered going for a much cheaper option, but we decided to go for Kongsberg X24 because of the high precision cutting that it offers. Also, machines like this are meant to last.”

The Kongsberg X24 table has helped Nancy Graphics offer new solutions and get more orders. “The response that we have got from our customers for our new offerings has been amazing,” he said.
