Ecotact introduces Penta Pak 12.5 coffee bag for sustainable packaging

-

Ecotact has launched the Penta Pak 12.5, a coffee packaging bag designed for the storage and transport of green coffee beans and other grains in 10 kg lots. The Penta Pak 12.5 features a five-panel, pentagonal shape with a flat base, which improves stability and allows more efficient stacking during storage and transportation.

The Penta Pak 12.5 is described as a hermetic, reusable, high-barrier bag intended to protect contents from oxygen and moisture, helping to preserve freshness and quality over extended periods. The bag uses a multi-layer structure that provides a barrier against moisture and oxygen. It is transparent and does not contain hard pigments, a design choice intended to support recyclability after use.

According to Ecotact, the bag’s shape and flat base help it remain upright on flat surfaces, supporting stability during handling and logistics operations. The bag includes a zipper closure, enabling repeated opening and resealing during storage or inspection of the contents.

The Penta Pak 12.5 forms part of Ecotact’s broader portfolio of packaging solutions developed for green coffee, cacao, and other agricultural products. These solutions are designed to support quality preservation during storage and transit by limiting exposure to environmental factors that can affect product integrity.

Ecotact states that the Penta Pak range is intended for use in smaller lot sizes and is suitable for specialty coffee supply chains that require controlled storage conditions. The company markets the bags as reusable and recyclable and offers recycling options for used packaging in certain markets where its programs are available.

The introduction of the Penta Pak 12.5 reflects ongoing demand within the coffee sector for packaging formats that combine product protection, logistical efficiency, and material circularity.
