Domino to unveil new digital retrofit module for hybrid integration at Labelexpo Europe 2023

-

At Labelexpo Europe 2023, Domino Printing Sciences will unveil its new digital retrofit module developed for integration or retrofitting into flexographic presses to offer hybrid printing. The event, which takes place between 11 and 14 September 2023 in Brussels, Belgium, offers a platform for printers and converters of labels, flexible packaging, and folding cartons to explore the latest advancements in label printing technology.

“We are very pleased to announce that we will be returning to Labelexpo Europe for 2023,” says Peter Van Riel, European commercial director – digital printing, Domino. “The most eagerly anticipated event in the European label converting calendar is all the more exciting after a four-year break, and we can’t wait to welcome visitors back to the Domino stand.”

At Hall 9, Stand 9A60, Brussels Expo, Domino will showcase a comprehensive range of full-color label presses and monochrome digital printing solutions that provide excellence in print quality, flexibility, and productivity. Visitors to the stand will be invited for live demonstrations of Domino’s products and will have the opportunity to discuss their requirements with Domino experts, to discover the benefits digital printing could bring to their business.

New digital retrofit module for hybrid integration

Recognizing the undoubted commercial appeal of digital printing, many conventional label and packaging printers are looking to integrate digital hybrid options into their already robust flexographic workflows. Domino supports this transition with the launch of Domino’s new digital retrofit module – allowing OEMs and converters to add Domino’s proven digital inkjet printing engine into their existing flexographic and finishing lines.

“Hybrid presses are cutting costs for converters through just-in-time delivery, short-run cost efficiency, and waste reduction – they also allow flexo print providers to stay current with market trends and meet the demands of their clients,” says David Ellen, Divisional Director – Digital Printing, Domino. “Domino’s digital retrofit module provides a lower cost, shortcut process for customers looking to build hybrid flexibility into their flexographic presses.”

Color press ripping technology

Visitors to Labelexpo can also expect an exciting announcement around the upcoming release of a new ripping technology to significantly improve production throughput for label converters.

“In digital printing, the job processing speeds have a significant impact on overall production capacity, and a front-end solution supporting a label press will ultimately determine the maximum speed of the line,” continues Ellen. “This has long been a challenge for converters – our latest development provides a significant step change in data processing capabilities.”
