Amcor expands rigid and flexible packaging for de-icing products

-

Amcor, a global leader in developing and producing packaging solutions, is demonstrating its capabilities in both rigid and flexible packaging for the supply of a wide choice of pack formats to meet the diverse needs of the de-icing market.

With its ability to design and produce containers, trigger sprays and bags in different shapes and sizes, Amcor is ideally placed to offer a one-stop service, with solutions tailored to the needs of different product characteristics. Each pack format has been designed to deliver maximum product protection, allow easy handling and storage, and perform reliably even under harsh conditions, while at the same time supporting sustainability goals, a company statement said.

“According to Inkwood Research, the European Industrial Salts market has been growing with a CAGR of about 1.55% during the forecast period 2019-2027,” said Katrina Burrett, product line director for Amcor Rigid Packaging Solutions International. “We are seeing several different types of de-icing products on the market, and this is why it is important to provide the widest range of practical and functional pack solutions to help companies maximize opportunities in the sector.”

Amcor’s rigid packaging solutions include rectangular containers, jerry cans and trigger spray bottles. The rectangular containers can be produced in up to 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic. Their shape allows easy stacking, with a secure resealable lid to keep product safely contained, while a carry handle ensures easy handling and pouring.

Suitable for chemical applications, the lightweight jerry can features a Jeroboam closure for anti-glug, controlled dispense, with a locking system for safe transportation. It can be produced with up to 50% PCR and is also appropriate as a refill solution for large containers.

The all-plastic trigger pump design, including a plastic spring, eliminates corrosion risks and enhances recyclability by avoiding mixed materials. It can be customized with different nozzles, levers and dip tube options, while offering a screw closure for refill packs. It is available with up to 50% PCR.

Amcor’s flexible bags range are suitable for all VFFS and FFS film formats for 1 – 25 kg applications. They offer strong moisture protection to minimize product clumping, with excellent tear and puncture resistance to ensure long-lasting durability in challenging environments, and their recycle-ready structures can include up to 50% recycled content.

“Our wide-ranging solutions for the de-icing market are a perfect example of how our global reach and extensive technical capabilities can support the diverse packaging requirements of companies of all sizes,” said Burrett.
