Dehradun-based Zircon Industries, a prominent provider of comprehensive label and packaging solutions customized to meet diverse brand requirements, has made a significant announcement at Labelexpo India 2024. The company finalized a deal to acquire five DCM finishing systems from FIG, marking a key milestone in its commitment to advanced packaging technology.

As a one-stop distributor and service provider of flexo presses and associated equipment from major international brands such as DCM ATN, Mark Andy, Rhyguan, and Rotoflex, FIG has established a strong presence in the Indian subcontinent. Over the years, the company has supplied a wide range of presses and equipment to Zircon, reinforcing their partnership and commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions. “Currently, we are running multiple narrow-web flexo printing presses from Mark Andy, an array of Rotoflex post-press equipment, and others which we bought all from FIG,” says Sanjeev Sondhi, director, Zircon Technologies (India).

Sondhi adds, “Standardizing our post-press units, we have booked five DCM systems from FIG. We found the finishing systems perfectly engineered by the French company DCM ATN with advanced features for optimum quality, productivity, and efficiency.”

The five DCM machines set to be installed at Zircon include the Sleeve 6 Intense, Babycat 4, two units of Sleevcut 5, and the Serval. The Sleeve 6 Intense is seaming & forming machine with a non-stop unwinder & non-stop rewinder. It’s fully automatic with permanent lay-flat measurement and control, automatic motorized positioning, and micro-edge guide for seam positioning. Babycat 4 is an inspection and doctoring machine, designed to operate both ways with seam quality control. Sleevecut 5 is sleeve cutting machine with inline perforation & rewind. Serval is slitter-rewinder of cantilever design with integrated unwind shaft and two rewind shafts.

Gourav Roy, director, Flexo Image Graphics, says, “Zircon is swift in implementing latest machines and technologies which eventually make them resilient to produce world-class label and packaging solutions. With its headquarters in Dehradun, Zircon boasts multiple production plants located in Noida, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Chennai, backed by a strong team of around 500 employees.”

Driven by technological advancements and innovation, Zircon holds the distinction of being the first Indian flexo printer to achieve the prestigious HD Flexo Certification – a global recognition for consistently delivering high-quality print samples across five distinct commercial jobs. Sondhi highlights that the certification was achieved using a trusted Mark Andy press supplied by FIG, which delivered the precision and quality necessary to meet the stringent standards of the certification.
