Italian manufacturer Zechini made its debut at Printpack India 2025 alongside its partner, manroland sheetfed, highlighting its latest innovations in bookbinding and luxury packaging. The two companies highlighted a range of advanced machinery aimed at meeting the evolving demands of the global and Indian packaging markets.

Zechini, a 70-year-old family-run company led by brothers Fulvio and Roberto Zechini, is well-known for its expertise in rigid and collapsible box manufacturing, book casing, spine rounding, and board book production. The company operates in over 30 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia, North America, and Latin America.

Monica Bernasconi, sales consultant at Zechini, explained the company’s evolution at the event, stating, “We started as a bookbinding machine manufacturer, producing a variety of gluing machines to laminate board and paper. While bookbinding remains our core business, we expanded into luxury packaging about five to seven years ago.”

The company’s packaging division offers solutions for three types of boxes – top and bottom lid boxes, wrap-around boxes with or without magnets, and collapsible boxes designed to save space during storage and transport.

The event marked Zechini’s first exhibition in India. “Our partnership with manroland sheetfed has been very successful. manroland has a great team” said Bernasconi.

Zechini sees strong potential in the Indian market. “We are optimistic about helping Indian customers enter the luxury box market. Our machines produce high-precision boxes, and Italian quality sets us apart from Chinese machines,” Bernasconi added. “While Chinese machines dominate the market and are lower-priced, our machines focus on higher quality, employee health, and environmental sustainability.”
