Vacmet India increases BOPP films capacity
The 10.4-meter wide line from Bruckner has a production capacity of 55,000 MT per annum

Vacmet India has recently commissioned a third BOPP film line at the company’s existing production facility in Dhar, near Indore. The 10.4-meter wide line from Bruckner has a production capacity of 55,000 MT per annum. With the commissioning of the line, Vacmet’s BOPP film capacity has reached 1,20,000 MT per annum. With the capacity addition, the group aims at faster deliveries along with an enlarged product portfolio.

The new three-layer state-of-the-art fully automated 10.4-meter line from Bruckner can produce films from 12 to 60 microns. The high-speed line with automated changeovers and automatic consumption of waste shall not just help the company in improving overall efficiencies when running various product mixes but will also considerably reduce waste.

SC Kapoor, president-operations at Vacmet India, said “This capacity expansion is expected to benefit the industry in terms of meeting the enhanced demand for BOPP films in general. It is going further boost the confidence of brand owners trying to shift to BOPP, owing to its ease of recyclability with the same family structures. The film line also supports thicker microns which is in line with the government’s waste management regulations recommending the industry to use films which weigh more than 50 microns.”

In addition to the BOPP line, Vacmet also commissioned its fourth polyester film line in India some time back. The new line also based out of the same facility in Dhar is an 8.7 meters wide line having a production capacity of 36,000 MT per annum. With these additions, the company’s total installed capacity for both BOPP and BOPET put together now stands at 2,50,000 MTA.

Vacmet India is one of the world’s leading producers of flexible packaging films and metalized paper and board headquartered out of India. With five manufacturing sites in India, two wholly-owned subsidiaries in UK and Netherlands and the third one to be operational soon, Vacmet today caters to customers in more than 70 countries across the globe. Founded by the late Dinesh Chand Agarwal, over the years the company has expanded into different packaging segments – packaging, labeling, lamination, brand security and decoration; catering to industries ranging from food and beverages to textiles to healthcare.
