United Caps’ new closure innovations at interpack 2026

-

At interpack 2026, United Caps will present a new vision for collaborative packaging innovation under the theme Imagine Better, inviting visitors to discover how better design, better dialogue and better solutions can help shape the future of closures. From 7–13 May in Düsseldorf, visitors to Hall 10/D67 will experience a complete interpack programme built around innovation launches, hands-on co-creation and expert-led packaging discussions.

The packaging market is moving too quickly for incremental change alone. Brand owners and manufacturers are under pressure to respond to sustainability targets, tighter regulation and increasingly complex supply chains. In this environment, United Caps is focusing not simply on showcasing products, but on helping customers solve real packaging challenges in effective ways.

“Packaging today demands solutions that combine performance, sustainability and speed to market,” said Benoît Henckes, CEO of United Caps. “Imagine Better reflects our commitment to helping customers turn challenges into practical action.”

This collaborative approach is also reflected in how United Caps has designed its interpack presence around customer interaction and co-development. At the heart of this year’s interpack concept is the broader idea behind the theme: We Are Better United. It is a simple principle – better packaging gets built faster when customers and technical teams work together early.

“The best packaging innovation happens when customers and partners work together openly and early,” noted Henckes. “That is what We Are Better United means in practice.”

This collaborative philosophy comes to life in Better Lab, a dedicated innovation space where visitors can pre-book dedicated sessions with United Caps design experts via the Better Lab booking platform. Supported by live 3D prototyping on site, Better Lab allows concepts to move rapidly from discussion into tangible development.

Alongside Better Lab, United Caps will host Better Talks, a series of masterclass-style sessions addressing PPWR and other major issues shaping the packaging sector, offering clear insight rather than more regulatory noise.

United Caps will also introduce three major new product developments at interpack 2026: 27 H-PAK – a better alternative for cartons, 26 FLIP-ON for edible oils, and for beverages the 26/22 S-Spring.

Sustainability remains central to the company’s interpack story. United Caps will demonstrate how it is creating 10 Billion Better Carbon Footprints, with eve ry closure it produces now carrying at least a 12% smaller carbon footprint than at the previous interpack edition.

In addition, United Caps will present its low carbon offer across PE products manufactured by United Caps in Europe, brought to life through a collaboration with Dow. Designed to reduce carbon footprint while maintaining expected performance, the offer will be illustrated by a dedicated low carbon version of 23 H-PAK for milk and juice cartons. Made possible by Dowlex 2006G REN, and using bio-circular feedstock together with production powered by 100% renewable wind energy, this approach can reduce carbon footprint by 35% or more, depending on the application.
