ULMA Packaging launches high-performance TFX thermoformers

-

Leading packaging machinery manufacturer, ULMA Packaging UK, has introduced its latest innovation to the market – the new TFX range of thermoforming machines. Designed specifically for the demands of the modern food industry, the TFX series combines advanced engineering, intelligent automation and a strong focus on sustainability.

Performance is central to the TFX development. The machines feature hygienic construction and a suite of smart technologies that enhance productivity and uptime. Innovations such as synchronized movement increase output by up to 10%, while a newly optimized vacuum system reduces cycle times by 20%, facilitating faster, more efficient production lines.

TFX is also engineered with precision in mind. The system delivers consistently high-quality packaging through automatic film alignment, precise zone heating and constant control of the sealing environment. Inline inspection tools have been incorporated to monitor sealing and labeling integrity in real-time, helping manufacturers meet the highest standards for quality and food safety.

Changeovers, often a bottleneck in food production, are simplified through user-focused features including touchscreen tray height adjustment, automatic film and label roll changes and quick-release cutting systems. An intelligent RFID verification function further reduces setup errors by identifying moulds and tools based on pre-set formats and recipes. Designed with usability in mind, the TFX range also incorporates dual control panels for intuitive, efficient operation, minimizing unnecessary movement and supporting smooth day-to-day performance.

Every aspect of the machine also reflects a commitment to sustainability. Better Form X technology allows the use of thinner films while maintaining pack rigidity and Better Seal X enables sealing with recyclable materials, helping food manufacturers meet environmental commitments without compromising performance.

Digital intelligence completes the TFX offering, with centralised recipe management ensuring accuracy and repeatability, while integrated monitoring tools track film, energy, air and gas consumption by batch or shift. Each run concludes with a detailed PDF report, giving users complete visibility into machine efficiency and production performance.

James Couldwell, managing director of ULMA Packaging UK, said, “The TFX range is a significant step forward for our customers. It responds to the pressures they face by delivering speed, quality, sustainability and intelligence in a single platform. We’re excited to bring this innovation to the UK market and confident it will set a new benchmark in food packaging performance.”
